The “real” Garlic festival is in Gilroy, Ca. This is a minor irregularity in the garlic world…

Well, it *was* here in Gilroy. After the shooting in 2019, the insurance skyrocketed, and we couldn't afford the festival any longer. It's a shame, too, since it was entirely non-profit, and helped support a ton of local groups. The city council wants to start it again, but smaller and utilizing the historic "gourmet alley" downtown, but most of the under-60 citizens aren't really on-board with the idea. RIP Garlic Festival.1979-2019 :(

In this video he is talking about garlic in Minnesota and he went when they were having a garlic festival and there's no mention of French bread with a garlic pesto, or roasted garlic and garlic oil or butter, no roasted garlic whipped potatoes, no garlic croquette potatoes, but Korean people love there garlic, ginger and hot sauce like eating different styles of KIM-CHEE,many different ones but garlic like ginger are very good for your system and garlic like ginger will bring your blood pressure down or no garlic sauce but when garlic is cooked it is no longer pungent, rather very sweet many different uses of garlic and I buy garlic salt with lemon but like any herb don't overpower it and I can tell when someone is KOREAN by smelling their breath and when I was stationed in Korea, they use it on everything like sesame oil and I use sesame oil when I make my Hawaiian style vegetable fried rice with soy sauce and OYSTER sauce, excellent product and everyone just loves it and they ask me for the recipe which is very easy to make and using that recipe as your base you can add just about anything to make a cheap and affordable meal like adding eggs any style on top of the rice and I pack it with a lot of different vegetables to make it very nutritional and your body will ask for more and it's very light and I can eat fried rice anytime of the day, but this video is very interesting and I buy the garlic that's already peeled and once you cook the garlic it will keep for a very long time

We no longer have the festival. The 2019 shooting caused insurance to become outrageous for a non-profit festival. Paired with the increasing cost to shuttle people in from off-site parking lots, the city made the choice to shut it down. :( We've been trying to restart the festival in a smaller venue, like historic Gourmet Alley downtown, but so far, nothing is really "clicking" for us residents, and the city council isn't really interested in buying-out cropland for an annual festival.

They also use to have the Gilroy garlic festival here in California, and that is one of the biggest festival. Also. Gilroy is the garlic capital city in the Bay Area, but there was a shooting one year and they stopped having the festival.

Sonny the Cornish pasty was made for coal miners. They would make a twist on the edges of the pastry so the miners because they had dirty hands would be able to hold the twisty outside of the pastry so not to spoil the soft good side. If I am right it can be fact checked lol
