Thank you sir for uploading this video. Earliest country to making this cannon is Majapahit Empire after capturing some mongol army after defeat in Java campaign called Cetbang. Until now i dont know about reloading process of cetbang so thank you very much

You're welcome! The original early breechloader loaded only the powder in the removable chamber and the projectile went directly into the barrel. Here's a link to a real one shooting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIfCgIqVh9xogdE

Looks like you could sustain fire at about 1 shot every 30 seconds if helpers could keep the magazines loaded. Have you shot shot or buck and ball from it? Thank you for sharing this great video.

I only shot a few slugs for it.

Wow this is so amazing. I feel like this design could be built to use 10 or 12 shells. Just gotta add a firing pin to one of those"cartridges" and add a hammer and trigger to the cannon its self.

Problem is, then it becomes a fire arm. Doing it this way, the feds don’t count it as one.

1200-1500 is a LONG time period, and there was constant improvements during those 300 years. Your question is also too broad, and is making an incorrect assumption. I'll explain, but TL;DR at the end. The far east had gunpowder much earlier than Europe, but these were "fire lances." Essentially they were giant sparklers put on the ends of spears. They had a few "hand cannons," which were 12 inch (usually) metal tubes that were filled with either rocks or metal balls. They were put on the end of spears and lit through a hole with a match, blasting at enemies. They were used in sieges, and had terrible aim. Europe didn't even get gunpowder weapons until around 1327, maybe a little earlier, but not much. These were so-called "hand-cannons" and arrow pots. Arrow pots were giant metal vase-looking things that had a small hole at the top. It would be filled with gunpowder, arrows would be stuffed into the tiny hole, and then it would be lit, shooting arrows at the enemy. It had no aim whatsoever, and was likely a simply a terror weapon. During the whole 1300s, cannons were rare and mostly just for show. European metal working at the time just couldn't make something small enough and accurate enough to be effective. To put it into perspective, to make a cannon with any kind of effective range in the 1300s, it was so big and thick that it took THREE DOZEN horses or oxen to pull it. In the 1400s, the culverin were developed. These were the early form of cannons, and were small and were usually carried by one person. They were more effective, but range was still an issue. During this century there was the development of the bombard, or what we might think of as an early howitzer. It was a flat, very wide cannon, pointed in a general direction. It would hurl giant balls of lead with no accuracy, but was effective at destroying cities behind walls. This was the type of cannon the Ottomans used in the Siege of Constantinople in 1453. However, these cannons were not "fast" at all. Here's where you run into problems. Most of the development on cannons truly began in the 1500s. That's where we begin to see the type of cannons we could recognize. The bottom line is, cannons from 1327-1500 (when they existed) were large, bulky, inaccurate, and SLOW. The other option is to have either the hand cannon or the culverin be used, but those were small, and used by single individuals at close range. TL;DR: None of the cannons from 1327-1500 had a fast rate of fire. You could go with the small, personal, one to two man hand cannon or culverin if that's what you're going for, but they had a VERY short range.
