Team USA Members really seems to be a close knit, those guys despite being rivals are great friends. Hoping that Levon would feel well , they are a great bunch and if they could rally and support each other most likely the next Challenger would come from their ranks. Wesley and Fabi would provide classical long game challenge. Dominguez-Perez and Levon are very creative, calm and solid. Jeffrey Xiong,Danya and Hikaru are beasts in shorter time control. Darius, Sam and Sevian are aggressive and known as wildcard. Hans Niemann and Awonder Liang provides youthful energy. Gata Kamsky, Varuzhan and Yasser Seirawan could provide valuable wisdom. With great patrons like the Sinquefeld's and Buffet's , If Team USA would get their act together and the players play consistently and elevate their play they could be a Force to reckon with.

@mudpro Yeah, comparing ourselves as casual players to pros who do it for a living is apples and oranges. Regardless, it is still impressive and requires a natural ability to recall. It's amazing really. In the chess world I'm just a mediocre to very average player. In the "real world" I'm pretty good compared to others who just know how to play. High School JV vs. NFL really.

This is really where Hikaru shines, in actual serious chess talk and not fooling around, making drama and imitating e-sport streamers. (And yes, I know he makes tons of money and as such I of course understand that's why he's going down that path.) He is still one of the greatest players of our time, in blitz obviously but it's still very fascinating to hear him talk about classical (even though he's probably not in shape himself to play that format).
@adamleckius22532 жыл бұрын
And - it's of course fantastic that he's covering the WCC and thereby opening the doors to real chess for his many young viewers (and not just bongcloud bullet he he)
@rpg_haven2 жыл бұрын
While I agree, he's good at fooling around and streaming, too. He's getting older, and he likely knows he peaked in classical, so he made the smart move to shift into streaming. Good on him. Chess needs dudes like him who are more involved in the community. It'll help chess grow.

2:21:30 Judging by his performance in the '22 Candidates, Fabi needs a sports psychologist worse than Nepo.
2 жыл бұрын
People are saying fabi will beat magnus is delusional, they just played 5 months ago and magnus won , magnus was 2835 fabi 2832 and now magnus 2855 fabi 2790ish for alireza, he has never beaten magnus in any time format including classical OTB ( he lost to caruana recently, hes not winning against 2800+ )
@klajdimyrtaj50522 жыл бұрын
Of all of the superGMs now alireza has the most chances of defeating Magnus, losing to Caruana doesn't mean anything as long as your performance is +2800 , anyway likely Magnus will crush the next candidate also, it would take more than 2 years to dethrone magnus
2 жыл бұрын
@@klajdimyrtaj5052 He lost to magnus 2 months ago in norway chess he defeatde 2600 players, when he faced people like caruana nepo magnus ding etc, he lost. magnus vs alireza is 4-0 in classical and the games are not old, they are recent
@klajdimyrtaj50522 жыл бұрын
@ doesn't mean anything if he has lost, If the rating is 2800 it means alireza is the toughest opponent for Magnus, the ratings doesn't lie, especially for young players that can only improve, beating 2600 might be harder than drawing +2750s, actually alireza has beaten a lot of super GMs recently,
@klajdimyrtaj50522 жыл бұрын

After 10 Qe1+ Qe7, white would like to play 11 f4, but then black responds 0-0-0, with an equal position. Instead, white first plays 10 Qe1+ Qe7 11 a3! Now white wants to play Bb4 with a small but clear advantage. If black wishes to avoid this, he must play ...b6, but then since 0-0-0 is no longer practical for black, white continues with 12 f4! 0-0 13 Qf2, with a large advantage for white.
