He's proven time and time again he can win online or over the board. The only time he was ever accused of cheating was by Kramnik who by the way accused multiple GMs of cheating or just anyone who beats him. He's no.2 in classical where's it's basically impossible to cheat.

Is it me or has hikaru had a regression in his psychology against Magnus since 2021-2023… during that timespan he seemed unfazed, & if you only watched hikaru you could even have been convinced that he was better than Magnus just by his demeanor. Nowadays even if you only watched hikaru you’d still get the feeling that Magnus is the superior player because hikaru acts that way

Rather than regressed, it seems like he’s just become complacent with being second to Magnus, and has lost a lot of his drive to play to win and improve, in favor of just creating more content for his channel by ‘farming’ weaker opponents. Of course, this is entirely fair as he’s making more money from his content than he will ever make from winning tournaments. Moreover, with as many Titled Tuesday/Bullet Brawl wins as he has, I’m sure he’s become a bit jaded and has lost the motivation/desire to win any more tournaments, as it’s really just another number to him at this point, especially if he’s going to get the similar amount of revenue regardless of his performance.

The problem is that even during that 2021-2023 period, with his refound confidence, magnus still consistently beat him. There’s no shame in accepting someone is better. Magnus is a generational talent, perhaps the greatest of all time. It just sucks he exists at the same time for Hikaru.

@@paroxysm6437 consistently is a stretch, @ a certain point there were pretty well matched & still are to this day depending on format. I think in either 2021 or 2022 hikaru hadn’t lost a single game vs Magnus for a long stretch

Maybe the cheese is making a move that wasn't great assuming Hikaru already premoved his knight to try and get a slightly better position (trade pawns) than would otherwise be possible (move pawn forward and straight up lose it)

Chess doesn't change over time. You could watch a TT from 2019 and it'd have the same kinds of games and the same people. Content is complicated - if there are bunches of recaps then regular content gets pushed down the line. Then we choose to publish a recent TT because it's recent rather than publish this one first, then the recent one. We try, but sometimes content gets out of order.
