I took refresher driving lessons (after not using my licence for 11 years) and I think it was one of the best money spent in my life. I think the secret is that after doing your refresher lessons, you should start driving on streets and roads you know. And also avoid peak traffic hours. It can be overwhelming in the beginning to concentrate on driving and on finding your way, especially if there‘s a lot of traffic around you. And practice, practice, practice. Driving is something that you can learn only on the road.

When I learned to drive my Dad desensitised me to this when I was learning to drive by just getting me to drive aimlessly away from home for about 30-40 mins then making me find my own way home. We got lost quite a few times and had to ask random stranger in the street where we were and how to find the nearest town but it really helped me be comfortable driving anywhere

For the oven gloves...get some silicon ones...they are really great for heat protection...and they grip the pans/plates very well too :) For the resin air bubbles...use a hair dryer (cheap heat gun) on the resin just after the pour to make the air bubbles come to the surface and pop away.

Driving is really scary for any beginner, you should definitely keep practicing! it took me weeks to enjoy driving after passing my test, I was so scared, its the hardest thing I've ever done. Now I love driving and have done thousands of miles around the UK and go anywhere! Freedom!
@EdwardHitchon19934 жыл бұрын
With regards the driving, a Pass Plus course might give you the structure to feel like you've actually learnt and improved, you cover things like motorway driving, driving in bad weather, town and country driving. It requires 6 hours of driving and can often be booked as two 3-4 hour lessons which I think is probably better than lots of 40 minute hops around the area you live in and know well. It really helped my wife after she passed. Also as a cyclist / motorcyclist I'd urge anyone who drives a four wheeled vehicle in the UK to do a CBT. It's about £140 for the day, you get a moped riding qualification for life (assuming you've got your car license), and it seriously increases your awareness of more vulnerable road users.
@tinatina12994 жыл бұрын
Oh God the driving thing! Driving lessons to get my driver's licence 11 years ago are hands down worst purchase of a lifetime for me. I've driven like once or twice after getting my licence and never since then. First, I didn't have a car and family members, who encouraged me to get the licence saying they would lend me theirs, didn't come through as they were scared to lend the car to someone fresh out of driving school, so I never practiced. But also the driving school was pain, took me 6 months instead of like 2 it is supposed to and I was still in full panic behind the wheel. I am SO scared of driving now. I even used to have nightmares about it. I currently don't have a car as I don't need it but I am dreading the moment I will need it. So scary and I don't even know why! Whole degree in psychology but I cannot explain this one :D

10:30 Wax once, then use an epilator to maintain. Old hairs are super painful to remove but the ones trying to grow back come out much easier. I own the same epilator as Hannah and it's been a godsend I've used it so much I've worn the battery out, sooooo worth it
@sedivcovanika4 жыл бұрын
I would add that the epilator I have is really good even with really long hair and the two others I used were as well and one of them was really cheap. So I don't know if her epilator is so much different, but I should work ok, you just need to go a little slower up the leg, since there is so much hair :) PS: using epilator since I was like 13, I used razer for my legs like 5 times in my life and I love it ^_^ I don't need to care for my legs for 3-4 weeks, or even longer if I don't care that I have legs full of hair :D PS2: And the hair grows much much much slower when using epilator and I have some spots, where their stopped growing all together :)
@liam_hurlburt4 жыл бұрын
@@sedivcovanika I suspect it's gonna depend a lot on hair growth patterns. I'm very high on the chewbacca scale (male with greek ancestry), so if I don't epilate every few days it starts getting too dense to handle and if I shave I gotta do it twice a day. Epilation with longer growth definitely doesn't work as well but I suppose it might be doable especially for people with less aggressive hair
@katfoster8454 жыл бұрын
I cannot be arsed with shaving anything. Too much effort. I'm too pale for sunbathing too, I burn in about 5 minutes. I spend my summers covered from head to toe because it's the only way I've figured out in 23 years that I don't end up lobster coloured.
@madelinefieldshalva31214 жыл бұрын
For the oven mitts, try not sticking your hands inside so you have two layers. I do this automatically with oven mitts because they seem to be lower quality than hot pads. Also, idk if this is just a us/uk thing but I have never seen oven mitts come attached. We just keep ours next to the stove.
@rfldss894 жыл бұрын
If you haven't already, you should definitely try sugaring/sugar waxing at home! There's recipes online, but you basically just make caramel and then use it like you would use wax. It's more eco-friendly (not petroleum based and you can use fabric strips and just toss them in some water to dissolve the sugar away and reuse them) and also apparently better for your skin. Since you're doing it yourself, it's also cheaper than going in for a wax session.

For the resin, doing half and half is a typical way to handle that problem. You could also use a cocktail stick or something to move the petals into place after pouring. And you can use a flame to pass briefly over the top to get rid of some of the bubbles. If they're deeper bubbles, you probably just have to mix the parts together a little more careful so you don't add bubbles!

Really enjoyed this video. That phone tripod thing is like a 5 in one product. Great! But with the epillator I just don't get your problem with it. If the only reason you hate it, is because it doesn't work on too long hair... I mean, you can solve that easily, right? I have used my epilator for over 10 years, even under my arms, because I hate the prickely feeling of shaved pits... but I also let my leg hair grow out over the winter and it gets too long for it. When I go to epilate again I either 1) shave my legs like a week or two before it or 2) I use an electric hair trimmer (boyfriends) to shorten my long leg hair : ) Maybe you can give it another chance. If that reason is the only reason you don't like it.

Honestly, your driving story has made me more confident in the fact that not getting my drivers license as soon as possible going more than 5+ years after when I could have gotten is was a good choice, simply as I also properly never would use it in the years in between. I will get one when I need one, which is not now, which might be never. For us young people living in a bigger city without a car its just not necessary. Im sure you could do it if you needed to as well easing into it slowly.

So for the epilator, maybe try your pits. I bought mine for my legs and it just really hurt so I didn't want to do it any more. But then I tried my pits. Now the first time hurt quite a lot, but after that the hairs grow in so fine that it practically doesn't hurt at all any more and it just goes really fast once you get used to it. Just really like that better than having to shave them so often

I generally use an epilator and my trick is to do a quick classic shave first if it's been a while, and once it's growing back again, get the epilator to work. If it's summer it's a lot easier to sit down and do your legs every 3 weeks or so. Even up to a month and a half, it should work fine! :)

My best purchase is most definitely a proper desk chair. So much better for me in the extensive hone-working. I also got a new desk which is an improvement over the previous one (short people need proper height desks!) but I wish I’d gone slightly bigger - it would’ve made my office more cramped but I do wish I had more surface area. Still a net win though. Also a cheap shower head and hose - who knew it would be so easy to go from shit leaky pressure-less shower to good shower, should’ve done it way earlier. And various tools like screwdrivers etc. Basically all just adulting things. Newly invented middle tier, I bought my first piece of art after a few months thinking about it, a one of a kind hand-turned wood/resin piece for £678. I do like it but it requires proper display with dedicated lights to really look good and I just don’t have a good setup. Should look good one day though... I just don’t love it quite as much as I thought I would. Also a kettlebell - a good purchase if only I could bring myself to use it properly/more often. Finally iPhone SE, moving away from Android. Kinda like it, works with my iPad, certain things I still don’t love about Apple, and can’t decide if I wish I’d known a mini main iPhone would be coming (iPhone 12 mini) - I don’t actually need the power and all I wanted was a decent enough but still small phone. It was only because no-one else seemed to offer small but good phones that I finally switched. Worst would probably be a pair of cheap slippers because they’re too tight and I never returned them and they’re just annoying, plus some decent headphones that never arrived and I gave up with customer service. Also lock picking set I obviously can’t use and have no need for and a few other ultimately useless odds and sods that add up.

I have an electric shaver, just battery powered one and it rarely hurts or leave me in a rash and isnt disposable like razors! Mostly on my bits and occasionally on my legs so it does work for longer hairs too! It may not keep you as smooth for so long but so worth it for the pain of bumps etc!

Tip for oven mitts, don’t get Mitts at all. Get an oven cloth instead. I worked in professional kitchens are they’re preferred as you can loop them over your apron and grab them quick. They’re more durable, versatile, easier to wash and store and you can double up if you think it’s too hot. Also they cost maximum £5. Thank me later 😘

Love the coasters Hannah! You are getting so much better at resin! Just make sure you use safety gear if you continue to do resin on a more frequent basis some resin is toxic to your lungs with long term use. 😊

Could you do a video on yours (& Dan's) board game collection? Would be interested to know what your favourite two player board games are. My gf and I are always on the lookout for more!

I passed my driving test first time about one and a half years ago. A miracle 🤣 Got insured on my mums car in July and I've literally driven it twice by myself between then and now and I've decided it's not for me. I'm scared shitless, I honestly have no idea how I passed 🤦♀️ Everytime I sit in the drivers seat, I chicken out and go and take public transport instead 👀🤣 not for me

Silkepil Braun usually comes with a trimmer, use that first really quickly and then proceed with the epilator

I remember Bernadette Banner showing her teleprompter set up in one of her videos (for some reason I just can't find the one); she had like a mini one that might work for you, because she does a lot of heavily scripted videos. My favourite video from Vlognukkah so far this year! 🥰

oh my thank you sharing the driving story! I have the same issue and I am really afraid of driving and it stresses me out but there have already been so many situations where I wish I could be independent and drive myself with carsharing but I just can´t. I always tellmyself to do refresher´s lessons but I haven´t done them yet and I don´t know if I can ever drive .. Ah it really drives me crazy see the joke .. :D

My best purchases were definitely my TWSBI Vac 700r Iris and TWSBI ECO fountain pens and Pilot Iroshizuku ink in Murasaki-Shikibu. I became a huge fountain pen nerd over lockdown, since recieving a LAMY Safari for my birthday, and I have no regrets, despite having spent over £150 in a few months as a broke teenager. I was very lucky to get the Vac 700r Iris because it is a limited edition and I got one of the first release and the pen I recieved was one of the last I could find in the UK. Most of the money I spent was on the day I bought the Vac 700r and Iroshizuku ink, the pen cost me £80 and the ink cost me just over £30 for 50ml. Of the things I didn't buy for myself, my top new item of 2020 has to be the laptop I got for my birthday from my parents.

I have been using epilators for 8 or so years and I have never had the problem you're describing. I get my legs waxed maybe once or twice a year and use the epilator in between. But I only really use it every 3-6 months a lot of the time because I just cannot be bothered. I'm wondering if it's the little attachment it has? Mine doesn't have the 'massage' attachment and works when my hair is at maximum length, which can be quite long. For reference, I have the Philipps BRE630 in case you were wondering. PS Also works for armpit hair.
