Very thorough presentation. I'm a web designer who has a portfolio with smaller sites. It would be overkill for me to implement all of your suggestions. What would you suggest?

It depends. I did a lot of smaller stuff for small-ish clients. You can still take the questions (from the preparation phase) and answer those with one or two sentences. Then show screenshots of the resulting websites (maybe set into a mockup computer/laptop) to give the feeling of context to the viewer). Add a few short paragraphs and if possible a client quote/testimonial and you can build a reference/case study page on your site for future clients to evaluate your style/work/quality and if you provide insights into the process your way of working.

Hey Mark! How we market our work/services depends on who we are targeting. So, if you want to continue doing smaller sites, then market your services in a small way...make it look fast, easy, turnkey. If you want to charge higher prices and increase the size of engagements, then market your services in a way that shows depth of engagement, phases, methodical approach...a bigger engagement. Most creatives would rather have 10, $10k websites to make $100k than 100, $1k website projects to make $100k. Sven has some great suggestions in his comment on here too.
