Craziest scam I’ve heard, my wife got a call and it was a guys saying he was a police officer and that my wife had a warrant for her arrest. So I called the department he said he was from and put the phones together so the REAL police could say impersonating a police officer was a crime and now they were aware of a scam being done using their departments name and would perform an investigation. The scammer hung up so quick, but it really did scare my wife so badly.

"Oh there's a warrant for her arrest? Thanks for telling me I'll let her know to skip town. Bye" would have been my response. I wonder how they intended on spinning that into you giving them money...

@litewrk865510 ай бұрын
@@jbz4788 the officer I called said they were probably going to say it was for a ticket or traffic violation, that if we paid the fine for it the warrant would go away. But that particular kind of scam heavily relies on the victims fear so they ignore all signs it could be a scam 😤
@MiamiTots10 ай бұрын
I got something in the mail saying I failed to pay a ticket for getting caught on a red light camera. knew it was weird that a different company/collection agency would be sending that and searched and saw they were a scam site in about 5 minutes. had my mom or aunt got that they 100% would have sent the money

I had some scammer call my grandpa at one point, during a visit. That guy tried to sell him an insurance on his home. My grandpa pulled the most hilarious move, speaking this stuff out loud and then looked over at me: "Oh, okay. Wait. Let me just confirm this with my lawyer. He's here on some business, too." I had to contain my laughter. Of course the scammers still tried to pull their gag, but since my sister (who was also there) works in the Insurance business, we both literally scared these guys with federal lawsuits, pushed to the public eye and the NATO jurisdictional Court, they hung up pretty quickly xD

Atomic Shrimp has some great scambaiting videos and answers common questions about them too. No one is immune to scams because scammers rely on coincidence, empathy and desperation. If you are mentally compromised, that is when you are vulnerable. Maybe you're exhausted or grieving, but when you don't have the mental bandwidth to think things through, is when you are vulnerable to scammers. And everyone will have those times in their lives so scammers are playing number games and often have very few to no moral limits.

My Grandma had a scam call a few times. One time i was there and she was asking me if my laptop was a windows or something and how many computers we had. I looked at her and asked her why. When she said that they were calling about our computers being compromised i knew it was a scam. I think i took the phone asked them some questions and ended up saying, "Well I'm sure i can have my mom take a look at it. Bye." And i hung up. I explained to her it was a scam and she felt so terrible. Her anxiety about the situation was already high. I am just glad she didn't get a heart attack from the sudden stress and anxiety. I kinda wish i threatened to sue them or press charges if she did end up with a heart attack. Mainly to give them guilt, if they can feel it. I wouldn't do that to a normal phine call. But a scam? 100%.

It’s clear the police in India are being paid off at the highest levels otherwise they would have done something about this The reality is they all have family members who probably do things that are illegal. And it seems to me that the police and politicians over there are being paid off otherwise they would take that video and at the very least do a second raid I’m sure there’s plenty of cops and politicians there that do want to fix the issue but they are not in power to do so it seems And just like anywhere else From time to time a corrupt person in power will throw away someone lower to make it seem as if they are doing something about the issues
