Neat to hear all of this interesting and educational info from Coach Valley. She sure answers the questions and provides real information. Enjoyed the interview very much, thanks. Geno and CD are smart to have her on staff. GOOD LUCK in coming season and GO HUSKIES!

Welcome Morgan!!! Have you heard about Nika Mule's injury??? Is there anything UConn can do to help her?

I was pretty disappointed last year on boxing out. Such a fundamental element of the game and in many of the games that didn't go UConn's way I felt this was always a factor. Hopefully they get that cleaned up this year. The talent on this team is top notch and the deepest in the country.

Why do you guys seem to ignore the big girl from Egypt. I think that if she is over her injury, she will be an impact player this year.

Mushroom management theory: Keep 'em in the dark. Pile on the crap. Watch them grow. ????? But, it works. There is a history. Teaching often seems very easy. You just state the facts and they practice it. But, there are some issues which limit students in a subconscious way. They don't always know they're shooting themselves in the foot, and sometimes they hear the words, but they don't precisely know what to do to achieve the stated goal. Learning is a tricky business. There are sometimes also conflicting or limiting ideas of a student. I know my own experiences have been incredibly frustrating. But, I've coached some national champions (not in basketball yet) and the keys have been their openness to learn, great desire to win/achieve, and it isn't about overcoming obstacles. One curiosity is when I spent a brief time with a few students, and they performed so well that it freaked them out. Their self-limiting came AFTER the experience -- it was unbelievable to them. That only convinced me more that when they're open to suggestions, it's somewhat like hypnosis of the willing. But, when they have any kind of self-imposed limitations, BOOM disaster. If you see that, you have to slow down to the rate of change they can accept. Create a rolling snowball kind of experience where they're okay with every step of it. The great psychotherapist Milton Erickson claimed to be able to cure anyone, but only as long as that person WANTED to be cured. I think teaching in general is a lot like that.

Morgan Valley should be the Head Coach! I cannot with Geno…It has been a long time coming, but, Geno saying that Caitlin Clark, won’t make it in the WNBA, because she does not have the physicality and talent, to make it?????? Wtf, Geno? Are you senile? If CC does not have it(wrong), then our Paige, who is prone to injury , doesn’t have it either??? How…stupid to say that, with your ocean of experience!!! This woman should be in charge, and will be!
