Safety tip from the bbq world: if you’re using wooden skewers for the toasted marshmallows, soak the skewers in water before using. They’re much less likely to burn!
@aylacrissman34433 жыл бұрын
Oh the irony. I’m literally in the ER now because my brother burnt himself with fire, a candle, and a lamp. The lamp caught fire from the candle, he, myself, and the house are all fine, but we wanted to double check on his burn. He’s totally fine, and he laughed when I noticed the notification and told him.

Recommendations for improvements: - blended chocolate (from different brands for different flavors) for texture - replace some of the ice with frozen chocolate milk - the tiniest touch of cinnamon/nutmeg to bring forth that graham cracker flavor more in the drink itself, and i mean a tiny amount since you want a hint of it - crushed oreos because what's better than smores? smoreo. Still keep a bit of graham cracker to keep it well grounded though - whipped cream - whipped marshmallow fluff piped on top and set on f i r e (disclaimer: please be safe) - for decoration in a clear glass, a couple spiraled drizzles of the chocolate syrup on the side of the glass makes for a nice visual effect, better if you sprinkle some graham cracker dust on it for visual appeal from the side - condensed milk is your friend - salt. just.... anywhere. a touch blended into the graham cracker rim will help balance out sweetness (especially if you add more sweetness in the drink itself), plus a tiny little dash added to the drink in general will help bring forward a lot of balance - if you don't have a torch, you can roast them using the broiler setting in your oven but it can be dangerous like open flame, you can also just generally roast them on a tray at a high temp. you could even do a circle of mini marshmallows to "float" on top - if you don't have a torch and don't want to use your oven, you can actually make "toasted" marshmallow fluff over the stove, add a bit of butter to aid with the toasting and keep mixing (this is also useful for rice krispies), add some salt for sure on this one - if you are over the age of 21, alcohol (bailey's is a good addition for anyone who doesn't want a coffee punch, salted caramel liquors/chocolate liquors are good too, i recommend Dorda's double chocolate liquor and salted caramel). do not blend the alcohol till the very end as it will cause your mixture to melt faster because of chemistry. alternatively, an alcohol floated if you're making abigger batch and don't want to make separate ones. - using a combination of melted chocolate, chocolate syrup, and cocoa powder will give you the most chocolatey flavor (hence why the best brownies tend to be a "mix"), mix and match brands to have better depths - if you're a milk chocolate type, dont be afraid to add a bit of dark chocolate somewhere to help balance the majority milk This was quite long, but these were the immediate tips I could think of as a hot chocolate snob and a baker.

If you’re going to go that all out, might as well skip the liquid smoke and go with an Islay scotch. But, if I was being honest and making this drink for myself? Probably just approach the flavor profile via an affogato over rocky road served with graham crackers. Maybe keep the dram on the side and go with a better malt than if I was going to mix it into the drink.

I know this was not supposed to be the take away, but lol I have never seen someone use a mallet for graham crackers. Just use a rolling pin. It works the same, but different vibe. Also, at my fav coffee shop they have a s'mores latte, but they also have a creme brulee latte which is pretty much using the fire on a latte with sugar on top creating a marshmallowy top. So my vote is for more fire!

3 drops of liquid smoke for a single drink?! You're insane! 😂 The general recommendation is a quarter teaspoon for a whole pound of meat. I'd maybe use a single drop or even a toothpick dipped into the liquid smoke and then swirl the toothpick into the chocolate. The drink looks super good though. Once I have money, I'll make it! Or maybe I'll just toss toasted marshmallows on hot chocolate because that sounds bomb too

Being from Florida, it took me a long time to understand summer camping and summer bonfires. One does not simply do that in Florida. It's in the 80s here every night in the summer, and doesn't start feeling cold consistently until January. Not to mention south Florida where it's worse. So I associate camping and fire and s'mores with late autumn/winter.

First, this is a very fun, cool, and enjoyable video. Second, with the butane torch, it was hard to see on my tiny screen, but you *might* have gotten the flame too close to the marshmallow. When you look at the flame that comes out of a butane torch, there is what can be described as the “little blue flame inside the big yellow flame”. Letting that “little blue flame” touch your food is where butane flavor gets imparted. If you can keep it to where your food is only touched by the outer flame, you will just get intense heating with no unwanted gas flavors. Lastly, that final product was a lovely presentation, and something I would look forward to receiving at a chique event.

This video is literally perfect for me thanks so much Edit: here’s my review: although it looks really good and probably tastes really good as well I don’t think enough s’mores elements were used in the actual drink it more or less just looks like a mocha drink with some garnishes. I’d recommend trying to, for example, for the blended version to actually put in some gram crackers and or marshmallows so it actually contains all the parts of a s’mores in the actual drink.

I just toasted a marshmallow using a hydrogen torch at work today. One recommendation: don't point the flame directly at the marshmallow. If you're looking at the marshmallow from the top-down, try to hold the flame at a tangent to the circle, like you're trying to heat a straight line parallel to the top and bottom of the marshmallow. That way, the inside is warm and the outside is just toasty instead of burnt.
