A tip from a baker for vanilla syrup: a lot of the flavor compounds in vanilla denature in heat, so for a more complex flavor, add the vanilla after melting the sugar and removing from heat!

Super interesting bit of info!! Adding the instant espresso powder to cold water as well would preserve coffee flavonoids so overall, skipping the hot water bit would be a win!

That's a good idea too! Coffee flavor intensifies when it's cold. I'm a barista myself and i saw other baristas using cold water first to melt it then a bit of hot water if they want to drink it hot@MoushumiPardesi-r7u

I like the format, it reminds me of Binging with Babish. It also lets you focus on making while also getting clear commentary on what's happening. You don't get any stumbles or pauses of voiceover while a tricky or involved physical process happens.

I like this! It reminds me a bit of your older videos when you did all voiceover and made the recipe or technique in “silence”, per se. Now it feels like watching a longer reel! I do like the “normal” videos for lack of a better term where you talk to us while creating, speaking for myself it feels like having a visit with a friend while doing a project, but I’m happy to see more videos like this in the future too! 😄

If you don't have the energy or fridge space to freeze-distill milk I've found a can of evaporated milk is about 80% comparable. You get the texture of whole milk with about 60% less water content, but the difference is since evaporated milk is heated is has some caramel-y toasted milk notes and isn't as clean a flavor, still works in a pinch though.

Wow. I just made the first one, then saw this video listed. I'm cheap and most of the time when I want a coffee drink, I want it now and without a lit of fussing. So this is my go to coffee drink made at home. On really hot days I make some strong instant espresso over ice then add a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

I like the bookended format. Slide in, live intro, VO for the assembly steps, and then live outro... it's also gotta be easier for you to do all the cookery VO, you can take as many shots as you want (pun not intentional!) and then take as long as you need to get the VO right... which means a less frustrated Morgan which means a high probability of better content! AND we still get to have slidey!Morgan! (Though pop-up!Morgan isn't bad either... but I just love the look of glee on your face when a slide goes right. :D ) Oh, and I love the beehive backsplash. That just rocks!

Use vanilla sugar. I keep a few used vanilla beans (after making crème brûlée or similar) dry them and chuck them in the sugar container. Or if you find very low grade vanilla beans split them and throw them in the sugar container. Voilà after a few days you have vanilla sugar.

I think this commentary style works well for instructional videos like this! it's clear and easy to follow and very visually appealing with the closeups on the drinks when you pour them. the live performance for things like product reviews are more fun/lively/engaging, so maybe that's something to consider? Agreeing with everyone else that Narrator!Morgan has a very soothing voice to listen to.

No joke, just made the vanilla bean-saffron-orange water syrup and it is INCREDIBLE! I had all the ingredients on hand already. Milk is currently in the freezer, but I made the latte with regular milk while we wait and it is outstanding, I love the flavors! I can't wait for the freeze-distilled part, never tried it before! Thanks for your other vid explaining how to do that!

I just found your channel ( July 2024) and I think this post was so fun and interesting to see the different lattes you made. My go to is a shot of fresh espresso on ice with a spritz of vanilla syrup and cold foamed milk. I will for sure make my own syrup now. My granddaughters regularly come over for a latte - cold or hot. Your clear voice and instruction are a big bonus. Thank you. ❤

loved the format with the intro and conclusion done by Talking Morgan! and the instructional portion done by Voiceover Morgan! It was personable but made it easier to focus on what you were doing during the drink build. Also, I really appreciate you including easier levels of a tasty drink in the same video of the fancy drink because fancy drinks are fun but I'm not putting that much work into my coffee and it's nice to get the more accessible version at the same time without getting weird coffee shame from someone being snobby (to be clear, you are fancy and kind not snobby)

I was enjoying your presentation and analysis. I have a lot of vanilla pods and want suggestions for what to do with them. But at about 6:35 in, you got my full attention when you spoke the two magic ingredients, saffron and orange blossom. I’m a saffron lover and try to always it in my pantry. And I love having exotic flavors around to occasionally add to whatever sounds interesting. I am a very curious person, and it is apparent predominantly in two places: my pantry and my audio library. I mean, what could be better than knitting while listening to a riveting book and sipping on a fabulous cuppa Joe? (My idea of a riveting book includes science and speculative fiction, science, historical nonfiction, biography, and memoirs.) So while I wait for my coffee station to be set up, I’ll have a way to make your most intriguing coffee drink. Anyway, I AM FASCINATED BY FROZEN MILK! It’s something that I’ve never heard of before. I like the idea, the mouthfeel is what I would always choose. I just bought an inexpensive ($7.99USD) handheld battery-run (Amazon, two AAs) frother for my coffee. However, I don’t have any milk. So I checked at Amazon, and the only products that peaked my curiosity were a can of organic heavy coconut cream, NESCAFÉ Gold Espresso Intense (Instant Coffee, 3.5 oz.), and an empty bottle with a pouring spout. So they’ll be here tomorrow! I’ll have to wait 9+ days to get the frother, but until then I think I can pour the cream into a bottle with a screw top and either whisk, beat, or shake shake shake it up, right? Besides, I’m not doing the frozen thing with canned coconut milk.
