The natural hair with the bangs was cute in the intro.

A lot of people think that it takes so much effort or more time to take care of or “glam” your natural hair but in reality this society has told us this because it compares our hair to eurocentric hair and hairstyles. Our hair is different from theirs, that’s it. It takes people(any race) more time and effort when they try to manipulate their hair for whatever reason. If the roles were reversed and a white person wanted to make their hair into an Afro they would be saying it takes them so long and so much effort to do that. It’s all about perspective .
@ow-chhhh6 жыл бұрын
Melanin Talks def. some people just don’t know how to take care of their natural hair and never have. Have never known how to manipulate it, so to make it manageable and easier, they straighten it all the time. Which kind of defeats the purpose. But I get it tho. It can be time consuming and is definitely a commitment, but it’s worth it, for me.

Everyone is entitled to rock their how they wish to, the truth is natural hair is a lot of work everyone have and opinion and something to say on such a small unimportant thing if you hAppy abd feeling cOnfident that's all that matters
@TheZchristina976 жыл бұрын
Yeah but it's not just about her hair being natural it's about it being fine. Not everyone is blessed to have thick manageable hair (yes natural hair comes in thick and manageable varieties). Fine and soft type 4 hair tangles more and is harder to keep from frizzing than other types of natural hair. Even an afro wouldn't be right on Jayla because her hair is fine, it would look weird. I also have fine hair so I get where she's coming from.

Morgan looked so beautiful. Loved her braids and the girl sitting next to her with the natural was beautiful as well. I’m all for weaves and wigs I wear them off/on but now everybody is starting to look alike with them so I prefer to stand out with my natural hair and be different. I recently cut all my natural hair off from shoulder length to a complete bald fade and I love it. Very few women are confident to do it. I just don’t really care for the attachment to wigs and weaves all the time. However, they are great accessory pieces and I completely agree with Devante

I agree. I have seen some women rocking natural styles looking glam and sophisticated. It is all about learning how to style and care for your natural hair. I feel like it is okay to rock your natural hair one day, then rock braids, then wig, then weave. Do what makes you happy. Switch it up and have fun.
@GUESSMYZAIS6 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I'm 10 years natural and almost at waist length after a few hair cuts along the way😄 it definitely takes time, loads of patience and self education on how to best care for your natural hair. Investing the time pays off. Embracing your texture/new look is the biggest mental challenge.

Okay so, I loveeee my natural hair. I feel like there is no hair out there that is better than what God gave me. However, I just bought my first wig and girlllll I love it! I’m a natural that does the most with my hair in terms of maintenance and sometimes I get tired of twisting it at night. So, the versatility with this wig is amazing lol! That’s the beauty of being a BLACK woman. We can do it all! Love you Jayla! ❤️
@ambiebby16366 жыл бұрын
I think folks drag black women for wearing wigs and weaves because it’s usually not our hair texture, so it looks like we’re mimicking women of other races. On the other hand, women of other races wear textures that are similar to their own. I personally think black women should start wearing weaves and wigs that match our natural texture more, especially because it’s a viable option now.

Have you tried using oils to increase growth? Also, I’d use oils along your hairline, esp as you wear wigs. (You didn’t ask, I know) but oils def help! Some great oils include: Castor (the goat), jojoba & almond.
