So glad there's a version that isn't a live performance shot through a cheap looking camera. I wish the other version didn't get taken down for whatever reason, but this is a good substitute. The two things I liked about the other version compared to this is 1, the instrumental had more energy, and 2, they actually did the rebel yell when it was said in the song. I'll make sure to keep coming back to re-listen again and again as long as it's on KZbin.

Not being able to properly hear this all male choral piece was one of the reasons I tracked down a soundtrack. I had no idea, thank you for sharing.

So I just noticed something that unfortunately is gonna bug me now. In the Confederate side of this song, Sons of Dixie, one of the two verses is supposed to end with "We'll send'em all a runnin' from the warm Virginia sun, so let'em come a gunnin' and we'll show'em how it's done." It doesn't say that. It instead repeats the same end of the verse.

As good as this version is, if anyone still misses the other version that was taken down for some reason, it's back.

why is almost every recording of this musical blocked? my friend recommended the musical to me ( bc I’m a civil war and musical nerd ) but I was never able to listen to it until now. Either way, thanks for uploading this! :)

I'm really not sure, but that's exactly what prompted me to track down a copy, any copy, of this curiously over looked soundtrack. Actually glad I found this version because "This Peculiar Institution" is my favorite and is apprently only included on this release. Thanks for watching.
