Powder lost the Ekko we knew, but she still had the Ekko *she* had fallen in love with. They were together from the start. That's why our Ekko asks Powder to kiss him "as if it was the first time." Because for her, they've been kissing for awhile now.

The other part was probably Powder was dropping the crystal, but this time Vi was too close to the blast. They even have a flashback of Powder holding Vi's lifeless body in the destroyed lab as Enforcers arrive on the scene.

A saddening thought is not only is Vi dead, so is Jayce since there is no Hextech; remember Jayce was exiled and expelled from the Academy for the hextech explosion, which means he and Viktor never met thus he took his life

Here a few things that I loved about this episode 1: when you look at the necklace you can see both of their silhouettes of Powder and Ekko in the flowers 2: The dance scene apparently was filmed in 4 frames per second because he can only go back in four second increments. Its him savoring the moment that they have so he can keep it forever. 3: Powder and Ekko are so much taller and have fuller faces because they aren't malnourished and it made me sobbed when I thought about it For some reason this episode reminded me of Life is Strange and I don't know if it's the vibes or what but I can't put my finger on it.

I'm pretty sure that Vi's death from Jayce's experiment was the catalyst for many events in the alternate timeline in this episode. Silco forgave Vander, because now not only was a dear friend of theirs gone, but their daughter was gone from the cycle of suffering. He probably took that time to reach out to Vander in his time of need. From that, due to the accident causing the loss of young vi probably led to Jayce's proper arrest or banishment. May have also brought much more of the underground together, and they got a chance to negotiate with Piltover to start bettering the conditions in Zaun.

10:48 My THEORY is that either Jayce was ALSO killed by the explosion OR when the enforcers arrived they found a child murdered by illegal (Or frowned upon research) and yes imprisoned. Coupled with the likely chance of a member of the councils child (Caitlyn) being either hurt or Killed (We never heard anything about what happened to her either in this episode) and the chances of Hextech ever taking off was effectively Zero.

So there are in fact 3 hidden things in the intro, the third one is when Ekko jump the flash of light you can see Heimerdinger. Also I haven't seen many people talk about that but at the start the disk doesn't have Jinx and Vi but it has Ekko and Powder.

It seems that this episode shines as an origin story for Ekko to be “The Boy Savior” with his time ability and than we got Jayce with his journey being like Viktor. With him being damaged at the leg being broken, till patching up without patching up and the virus entering his system like Viktor gain within living in the Undergrounds. So he clearly understands the feeling of Viktor faced. 😢

This episode was as nice of a break from everything else that we were going to get. It answered what people wanted to know was going on with Ekko/Hiemerdinger/Jayce. I'm not worried about Powder in this alternate timeline making hextech because I don't think she would because she partially blames herself for the loss of Vi. But even if she did make hextech, she made hers different to what Victor and Jayce did, hers is not attached to or corrupted by the arcane. So their timeline is not in danger of having the same outcome as the main one.

My headcanon is that Heimerdinger spent his 3 years in that alternate reality forging the peace between Piltover and Zaun. This was only possible by his time spent with Ekko in the undercity. Also imo Silco got the letter from Vander that was show in earlier episode and that's why he forgave him.

Yeah, pretty much if ANY of them die there then not only does Hextech likely not get invented (that might be because Jayce is imprisoned or banished, he could also die in the explosion, or he could just decide to stop working on it after seeing a child die because of his research) but ALSO Piltover now has a CULPRIT for the robbery and explosion. That means they DON'T send enforcers to turn Zaun upside down looking for the culprit. THAT means that Silco doesn't accelerate his plans with Shimmer. And THAT means that Deckard DOESN'T get pumped full of Shimmer. Which means BENZO doesn't get killed by him. It also means that VANDER doesn't take Vi's place when she tries to give herself up (because even if Vi's the one who lives there's no NEED to give herself up because they aren't looking for scapegoats). Grayson ALSO doesn't get killed by Deckard which means MARCUS doesn't take over her position and DOESN'T wind up taking Silco's bribes to let him keep making Shimmer and smuggling it with ease. Vi didn't need to die there. But SOMEONE did so that Hextech wouldn't be created and so Piltover WASN'T turning Zaun upside down because that caused nearly as much trouble as the Hextech did. A universe where Little Man doesn't tip them off about the job deals with the problem of enforcers flooding Zaun but it leave Jayce free to continue working on Hextech. That means the job HAS to happen, and ONE of the kids NEEDS to die. I can't think of a single event other than that where BOTH of the causes of trouble are corrected.

No actual confirmation I'm aware of of what happened to him in the good universe though.

Looking at the scene replayed during this rewatch though I DON'T think Jayce got explodified. In our timeline he (and Cupcake) were just about to enter the place when the explosion went off and blew the door right off it's hinges. When the enforcers show up in the good timeline the door doesn't look blown up. So unless Jayce actually made it into the room I think he lived.

Someone said "Anything shown to the audience, is never unintentional" Based on that statement, the stones hidden away in that drawer, Powders doll to Vi, the mural, and powders realizing that Ekko is from a different timeline. Alternate Timeline Powder will be making her way into the "real world", wether it's as Powder or (IMO) A.T. Powder could become Zero in a way. I use the double buns on the head of both as possible evidence.

My take is that they were shown as more characterization for Powder. She kept them as a reminder of the fateful Job, and thus were never used for further hextech disasters. Plus, she never brought them out to accelerate Ekko's z-drive development, so they got to spend more time together working on the project.

The three worlds we see is the middle world of canon Arcane where Hex-tech and chem-tech are everywhere, everyone in the family, but Violet, Ekko and Jinx dead. the best possible world where very sadly violent's death caused a chain reaction that made things better. The third world where Hex-tech has consumed and destroyed everything. Heimerdinger actually say this world when he first saw the hex-core telling them to destroy it. According to LOL lore Heimerdinger is actually not dead his race the Yordles are spiritual immortal beings when their material bodies are to use a phase from good omens, discorporated they respawn in bundle city. They are ageless and undying wish more characters were that way 😢

This one... hurts in some of the most unique ways of any episode of Arcane. The way that you get faced with a world that... at least on average, turned out as a net positive for the world, and one where everything went about as wrong as it could. Jayce had it easy to leave the world that he wound up in. It was hell, and that's easy to walk away from if you're able to. Ekko, on the other hand... the will that it had to have taken to walk away from somewhere that positive... because he knew that the people that mattered the most to him were in real danger, and he couldn't abandon them for his own personal paradise. That kind of resolve is so much of why Ekko is my favorite character in the entire series. As for why that world was so different... think of it like this. If the explosion took out Vi... it probably took out Jayce, too. No Jayce, no hextech. Sadly, it probably doesn't mean great things for Caitlyn, either. On top of that, you've had our universe's Heimerdinger to help guide things down a different path for the last... several years.

The best and worst thing is that Jayce is basically reliving Viktors' life; Jayce in the pits of the under city, disabled and barely surviving, but fighting his way up and into piltover despite all the challenges. Jayce really had to walk a mile in Viktors shoes.

Warwick's "self" was metal from Viktors "fixing". What killed off the people, got melted and shunted out of warwick as the beastial rage mind took over what little was keft of vander who had not been fully removed into metal. Singed did not poke warwick within that time.

I think the better situation between the upper city and the lower city is due to maim universes Heimerdinger's influence on politics in the 3 years he was there already. Also this version of Silco found the letter in their old hideout. So he made up with Vander and never formed his alliance with Singed to create Shimmer.

Arcane was my first introduction to world of League of Legends. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get that Jinx shirt? I've found some since I first watched Arcane this past August, but yours is absolutely awesome. This episode really hit me hard in the feels. The dance with Ekko and Powder with that song actually had me sobbing for the beauty and what could have been. Ekko having the strength to leave made me see him in a whole new light. If Mylo or Claggor died on the job instead the events that led to Vi slapping Powder, walking away to cool off so she could come back and apologize instead of continuing to yell at her and possibly hit her again, and getting kidnapped by Marcus so she couldn't come back leaving Powder to feel abandoned still wouldn't have happened.

singed did not cause lava Vander. singed injected him only in the 3rd arc when he gave vander's blood to viktor. lava vander was a reaction to viktor having a grip on him during healing and then viktor suddenly dying.

so what i believe happened in this timeline Vi dies during episode 1, that changes everything this is no longer about criminals from the undercity causing destruction and escaping, this is about a innocent girl fromt he undercity force to steal to survive and she ends diying because some crazy guy was doing crazy experiments, Jayce probably go to prison for a long time and hextech become illegal. Since Vi and the kids never escaped back to the undercity with the loot, they are never attacked by Sisco's goons, the enforcers dont invade the undercity looking for the people behind the explosion, Vader is never forced to surrender himself, Sisco plans get delayed because of that, he never test Shimmer in humans. Vander probably has a bad time and is depressed for losing Vi, he look for Sisco again, he find Sisco, he apologise to Sisco and they bound again because of Vi's mother. They decide is better to work together to avoid more death.
