I’m fascinated by the sound of a natural trumpet - I think of all the anthems which could be played. Thank you for this video.

I love the no vent holes. When I get in a discussion saying that vents are necessary I link these guys to show how it's done!

Danke an Euch zünftige Trompeter!

An interesting comment. “Cheat holes that castrate the character of the natural tones” - I have never played a brass instrument so dont understand what you mean.

Excellent playing. I wish, nonetheless, for a little more reverb, more surrounding acoustics, to really allow the trumpets' sounds to bloom and fill the vast aural space for which they were intended. ❤

Johann Ernst Altenburg (1734-1801) "Morgenseegen" This piece was published in "Versuch einer Anleitung zur heroisch-musikalischen Trompeter- und Pauker-Kunst" in 1795, Halle. It is written for 4 natural trumpets, 2 of them are muted. The melodie is based on the Choral "aus meines Herzens Grunde". Choral Aus meines Herzens Grunde sag ich dir Lob und Dank in dieser Morgenstunde, dazu mein Leben lang, dir, Gott, in deinem Thron, zu Lob und Preis und Ehren durch Christus, unsern Herren, dein eingebornen Sohn My inmost heart now raises, In this fair morning hour, A song of thankful praises To Thine Almighty pow'r Naturtrompeten/natural trumpets Julian Zimmermann www.naturtrompete.ch/ Josquin Piguet Naturtrompeten gedämpft/ natural trumpets muted Mike Diprose www.dippius.ch/ Martin Käch Video: Rolf Mäder www.rolfmaederphotography.ch/ Audio: Julian Zimmermann naturtrompete.ch/ Aufgenommen in der Reformierten Kirche Langenbruck www.kirche-langenbruck.ch/

I think it is very hard to play on muted trumpets. Do you have to produce the pitch with the lips that would come without the mutes, or with the mutes, as the sound with the mutes raises the pitch?
@naturaltrumpet844 жыл бұрын
The mute of course adds to the resistance so it changes how the Instrument feels (Yes, it gets harder to play....). The lips produce the vibrations at the pitch that you can hear...

Wooden baroque mutes raise the pitch. Are you compensating with muted trumpets tuned to match the others?
@naturaltrumpet844 жыл бұрын
no other historical option if you don't want to end up a hole or semitone apart (depenting on type of trumpet and mute!)....

You can say so. It's a period instrument from Renaissance and Baroque. It's a nature tone trumpet. No ventile. Change the tone only by mouth movements.
