Quick point: Buddhism is about compassion and eliminating suffering for all sentient beings. When you first get into it, youre usually suffering pretty bad yourself and for a while its all about Nirvana. However, that initilal suffering gets resolved fairly quick through the practice, and THEN comes this idea of the Bodhisattva Vow. That happens when youve healed so much and become so compassionate, you have an overwhelming desire to help all other sentient beings achieve peace. So, really, Buddhism is actually in agreement with what youre saying here. Nirvana being the ultimate reward for us all, ONLY when we've ALL become fully enlightened. My big question on this theory is, whats the point of this reincarnation to learn if we forget what we lived through before? For us to learn surely we need to remember what we experienced before ? I have flat lined twice, and I can tell you all for certain that this guy is right on the money with everything he is preaching. My experience of death was no less real than my experience of now is. In the time I was no longer here, I was put into two different bodies as a series of what I perceived to be experiments that I was to be apart of (avatars). The man who was facilitating these experiments was an old man with white hair (some say god, but I disagree as I didn’t perceive him as such). In both of the cases I did not accept the bodies/avatars as me, and it is thought provoking as to whether or not that is why I came back again-especially since my survival was a medical miracle. My circumstances were a severe case of viral cardiomyopathy which I was expected to be fatal-and if I were to survive, I was looking at a heart transplant, or at least an LVAD (both of which I never needed, and since then I am a fully healthy and functional athlete). I attribute all of the miracle to the power of will. When I was laying in that hospital, I made a conscious decision that I was going to will/exist myself to good health again. Question: I believe that reincarnation is very possible and that we all come back, but I have an interesting question that I hope you can answer. when we come back to or are reincarnated, why do some come back from day 1 with disabilities so bad that these people go through life not even knowing who they are. I disagree with your view on reincarnation. We are one with the all, we are one with the universal mind. Our consciousness is localized, but this is only temporary. Liberation from reincarnation is our birthright. And eternal peace and happiness, is our true nature. It is only a matter of realizing who we are. One doesn’t need to develop an advanced mind to achieve this. People see enlightenment as something exotic and extraordinary, it is the complete opposite. As long as we discover our true nature and who we are and remain true to ourselves, we won’t have to reincarnate on this earth ever again. It is not my responsibility to clean up after other people’s mess.
