I have somewhere between 700-800 cypress mori's. But this is a lession I learned after spending a year grinding with Bubba trying get the 4 head cosmetics only for them to anounce that they were being removed from the game less than a week after I finally got them all. We don't own things in this game and they can be removed at any time for any reason and we don't have a say.

I'm a fan of Distortion on live servers now, but i don't really use it to hide from the killer all match. It comes in handy when I need to make plays to save my teammates or work on gens within the terror radius. Killers have a lot of aura reading options, and I've noticed that a lot of my teammates get revealed and downed a lot in my matches right now. I wish perks like Lethal Pursuer required more work from the killer to activate.

Lethal pursuer only works one time and then it goes away the rest of the match. I don't think something like that needs to be worked on when it's only active for like what 6-8 seconds at the start then you pretty much have a wasted perk slot for the rest of the match. Now BBq on the other hand or even friends to the end is another story

Make the killer required to do SOMETHING before activating Lethal Pursuer. It's free information that encourages tunneling the first survivor you see revealed and as killer you need to do nothing to activate it at all.

I'd say do anything---whether it's gen progress, healing, getting chased, cleansing or blessing totems---as long as you're in the killer's terror radius & not idle where you're just hiding and doing nothing, it should be left as-is with the 3 tokens. And it should get a buff with chases in that when a scratched mirror Michael or other undetectable killer chases you, it should cause you to regain tokens. I would be in favor of that. And even better would be if it would adapt to the killer's build. By this I mean if the killer brings Weave, it would get an additional 2 tokens and Weave with Franklins would give maybe an additional 3-4 tokens, whereas if the killer only brings 1 aura perk like BBQ & Chili, it would reduce it to 1 token. I would be totally fine with that. Right now there are so many aura perks that it's easy for Distortion to be tapped out of tokens early (if you're doing gens & the killer brings Gearhead, it quickly drains Distortion). When I started playing this game, the only killer aura perks were BBQ, Nurse's Calling, Gearhead & Bitter Murmur along with some add-ons and the game was fun on both sides. Back then I wouldn't even use Distortion and just dealt with it by hiding in a locker when someone was about to get hooked or just dealing with it in general by staying mobile and not in 1 spot for too long. Now as survivor it's just too easy to get found even when bringing Distortion and you start out next to players who don't have it or are on a gen with those who don't have it while BBQ & Chili for example activates (I always thought a small 3-4m radius when working on a gen or healing should've been granted to protect the person with Distortion) or as killer if you use all the aura tools available, it's no challenge, so the fun has been killed on both sides for players who like a fair, non-rigged challenge.

9:55 i totally agree, there are to many players who arent paranoid that the killer can see them that will become easy knockdowns, and even a good player won't be able to identify what perk revealed them the first time either. a lot of the time it's the killer add-ons that are what catch me off guard, so what if killer add-on abilities that reveal aura give everyone a sound que. a great example of this would be dredge lavalier microphone. or myers scratched mirror as a lot of these type of aura reveal perks will catch new players off guard and take them years to think its not a cheater. great video paulie

Even if its for a fraction of the Bloodoints you paid or "what it originally cost" for the thousands of unused items we are forced to buy getting to 50 not even P3! No more retiring items left unused. I'd rather give them back for Blood points I choose rather than what I'm told is happening.

A solution for the Cypress mori offerings might be to have them let you kill one downed survivor if only one or two survivors are left in the match. That would be a nice buff to the offering in that it would allow you to get a mori more reliably that the current version, but since it would only trigger with two survivors left it wouldn’t significantly change whether or not the killer wins the match. (It’s very rare for a match to have exactly two survivors left, the killer downs one, but both survivors still somehow manage to escape. It’s not impossible in theory but I can’t remember ever seeing it happen in an actual match.)

Thanks for the info, Paulie! I always found it amazing, in any other game, this easy of aura reading would be considered a hack/cheat. As a matter of fact, about two years ago when all the hackers were descending upon DBD that was one of the main cheats. Many killers today still use aura hacks and run aura perks to disguise it.

The easiest way to fix cypress Moris are to let you kill one survivor by your hands with them, and bump up greens to allow you to kill 2 survivors that way they avoid any potential back lash if this doesn’t work out like they thought.

The advantage of aura reading is the element of surprise. Allowing survivors to know this is happening would be a huge nerf to killers as it would change the pathing and decision making of survivors in chase. Each change already lowers the sill ceiling of survivors, let's not go too far. Also you just know killer mains would then ask for that info when they're revealed as compensation, it's definitely a no no imo.

Yeah people call Aura reading "Wall Hacks" and "cheating" all the time but really most games now-a-days have some form of them. Even super competitive games like Overwatch has many types of "wall hacks" like Widowmaker's Ultimate is Aura reading on the entire enemy team. Even older game like Perfect Dark had a sniper called the Farsight gun that literally showed you people AND you could shoot them threw walls.

I’m still wondering why they think survivors can hide the entire match with 3 tokens when they have dozens of perks and add-ons that reveal your aura all match. You can’t hide all match in the corner of the map because unless you were in the killer’s terror radius you don’t get any tokens back. The real problem is when survivors hide in lockers all match and do nothing. It makes me want to switch distortion for quick and quiet and just hide on purpose now since they want to see our auras all match and got our ONLY perk that countered it nerfed.

Kinda wild it took 2 years to finish the Finisher Mori system. I understand there's a development pipeline and things get put on the backburner, but that's still a long cycle to say "oh you can kill the last survivor if you want". Basically like you're bringing the cypress mori with you all the time. Granted the original version would have been deeply unhealthy for the game. They probably started too big. The rest of the changes I have to see in action. Skull Merchant need a full rework. Distortion being the lone defend against 85 aura reads is bad game design. Other perks need to pull their wait - literally they just updated Jane's Poised this patch why not at 10 seconds of hidden aura to that along with the hidden scratch marks? It little things that could got a long way (because I doubt anyone will use the new Poised anyway).

I think the Distortion change is bad. Killers have an almost unlimited arsenal of perks and offerings to reveal auras, and survivors are being further hindered by having almost no counter play now. Why not limit the number of readings a killer can get via perks then? No, instead, let's make damn near every killer perk have an aura reading ability.

People wanted the chapter back so after a while they worked out something with Netflix to bring it back.

Killers have 29 perks and 61 add ons for aura reading. Including the new troubling Zanshin Tactics. These are exploited by high MMR killers to pummel lower MMR survivors more than new killers using aura reading to learn. I’d rather BHVR just base kit aura reading for both sides or make all maps into one white 8x8 box. Some in the community (and some content creators) call Distortion using survivors “rats” and use a meme that they hide in the corner and do nothing all match. That is blatantly false. Distortion users are actually more engaged in my matches.

Just started playing the game a few weeks ago, I've got over 51~53 cypress mori's from just leveling to prestige 1 on several killers. I doubt it makes it a million blood points worth? The manner the compensation was said and written though is indeed very misinterpret-able. I'm surprised they didn't say anything about the hacking issues of the game, and also the steam performance issues that have been going since the start of Castlevania release.

What they're doing with Distortion is a joke considering how many aura perks and offerings killers have these days and how many matches I've had where Distortion is not enough to block all the aura reading thanks to Weave-Franklins and countless other perks. I would love to get rid of Distortion altogether along with all aura reading by killers to return DBD to what it was meant to be at the game's release when hunting meant actually having to do the legwork and look for survivors. Make gen speed slower if needed as a tradeoff, but if they can do that it would greatly fix this game. I refuse to use those perks when playing killer because it takes away all the challenge of playing killer and I've never seen a sorrier bunch of killers when I play survivor these days who need everything fed to them. Just think about it----if any killer knew where survivors were for 75% of the things they see survivors for nowadays back around 2019 when I started playing DBD, they would be banned for cheating. Nowadays it's considered legitimate because the bar has been lowered so much to accomodate for lazy players not willing to put in the effort. That says a lot about your 95%+ of your killer players these days. I wish they had a perkless mode with no gimmicks (no dark mode BS, no 2 vs 8, none of that crap) where it was just 4 perkless survivors vs. a perkless killer with no add-ons where the only items that could be used would have to be found in at most 2-3 chests in the match. I would even be ok with no chests either. It's so pathetic that with all the pay to win killers (I'm especially looking at you Sadako & Vecna) and BS perks (lethal, friends til the end, ultimate weapon, plaything, nowhere to hide, weave attunement, darkness revealed & so much more) that so many players who play killer STILL tunnel, camp & use back-to-hook strats (especially at 4-5 gens), none of which take any skill or brain cells to use and instead show how bad & insecure those players who use those strats are at playing killer. For the mori, there's one thing I always wanted---leave all the mori offerings as-is and change it so that if the game detects any toxic gameplay such that any player takes 2 consecutive hooks, getting immediately downed after their 2nd unhooking, or if the overall anti-camp meters for all survivors build up beyond a certain point that the moris for the entirety of that match are instantly disabled for the killer as a penalty for trying to abuse it by tunneling out a player. That is & always has been my #1 problem with moris. There should be no basekit mori and the mori should be earned by having the killer player be able to kill by hand only when exhibiting enough skill to 2-hook and later down a player to mori them once they showed the skill to do so. Right now, if a killer wants to tunnel you just to get the mori, there's nothing you can do about it. The anti-camp system is mostly worthless in its current state and the killer can just ride it out as has happened to me a bunch of times where as I unhook myself they immediately hit for the deep wound where my endurance is already wasted so that the next hit downs me again and it's back to hook or mori. Players who play like that have no business being allowed to mori anyone. In fact, bringing a mori offering should add extra endurance and perhaps instant heals upon unhooks just to prevent that toxic skill-less play by the killer.

oh gosh bhvr no... the skull merchant changes made her even worse and more braindead to play, now she's being punished for actually using the only skill and strategic part of her kit, in laser tagging and timing the rotation correctly at a fault. also bringing back haste was not needed, making the hinder 10% would've suffice.

distorion should give u the info, like in 2v8, that u are revealed and not completely counter a whole perk(lethal) and then keep using it throughout the match.

It sound like it's making Harder on the killers which is bull. Look they maid this Harder on the killers they increase movement speed and Gen speed which is hard enough I have hard time now trying to catch survivers they which is bull crap to now they add more which is going make it harder I know they favor the survivers more but come on. Yeah, it is terrible to always know where your opponent is all the time. Like when you go against any SWF team that is in constant communication on where exactly the killer is at all times...... So maybe killers should get a notification at the beginning of a match that they are facing a SWF and how many survivors are linked up...? Then give a penalty free discon if they choose not to be revealed the entire match. We want to be fair, afterall, right?

I disagree aura readings create some of the scariest suprises in the game have to keep the game kinda scary.is it overkill somtimes yes..but if u implement a notification ir never gonna get that suprise scare as much

Am getting to the point stop playing and being done with the game it's not fun any more may be for the survivers not the killers . Sorry had a lot to say just frustrated it's like survivers are always getting new skins and out fits and killers barly do like it took them nine months to for chucky to get a new skin and knife .and can they get the rights to get like Michael Myers but they can get new skins or masks and freddy some thing it be nice to see Robert England as freddy in the game not the reboot freddy

I am against the idea of having to do something to use a perk it's more a punishment then reward having tokens to use the perks benefit nobody it's part of the reason I don't use half of the perks plus the fact that most are nerfed and no longer work the way they are designed for

Awful cop out! Lackluster changes which shows the devs chickened out when the killers complained. The Skull Merchant's nerf was very needed and now they said "nevermind, we are going to buff her a little again". The same goes for Hillbilly. Also, the Distortion nerf basically killed the perk. And killers say that the devs cater to survivors all the time😂😂 what a joke!

They did cater to the servs when they said they are reverting the mori system back. That's what they have to do find balance for all players.

Well Skully still got the majority of the nerfs from the PTB. Plus using power as Skully now slows you down and still removes bloodlust. So the 5% haste makes no difference. Skully is still very dead.
