If anyone is thinking of doing a similar project, I’d recommend using acrylic modeling paste! It will hold its shape much better and make the whole process smoother while also saving loads of paint. Liquitex (the brand of the paint Moriah used for this painting) has really good modeling pastes in its catalogue. While it’s quite on the more expensive side, it’s really worth it in my opinion, and it’s so fun to work with! Have fun and get creative :)

Another tip is to put the paint onto plastic wrap, and then roll it up like a tootsie roll. Snip off one end of the plastic and slide it down into the piping bag. MUCH less mess.

Hey moriah! When I’m baking and I want multiple frosting or batter colors to swirl together, i lay them in stripes on plastic wrap and then roll it up (so the stripes are going from one end of the roll to the other) and then cut off the tip and put the roll (cut side down) in my piping bag. That way, one color doesn’t overtake the other.

Moriah should totally do some art totorials, to help people like me who find it hard to find inspiration to start art peices. And procreate is soooo confusing 😢 ❤ We all love you ❤

I love liquatex but like she said it is expensive, especially if you get the Full Body Acrilic. To save money you can just add acrylic Thickening Gell to paints you already have. Save you having to .ix paints if you already have a bunch mixed and saves you having to fork out for expensive heavy body paints. Also. Beautiful work xx

You can get a 4.5 gallon bucket of joint compound from the hardware store for under $20, and a half pint of each rainbow color in their most saturated tone for about $6 each, and mix up the perfect consistency for piping a pastel rainbow for a fraction of the cost. I'd suggest using a piece of plywood or something sturdier than canvas for the backing as well. But all in, you could make a whole bunch of these for under $100 that way.

Can we take a moment to just appreciate how Moriah makes 1,000/10 content while having two kids and her editing style is so amazing and that must take so long yet she still posts every Friday? Just amazing, I would never be able to do it. 🩷 🧡 💛 💚 🩵 💜 🌈 🌈 🌈

A cheap way is to mix paint or colourants with spackling paste / caulk. Or you can mix paint with modelling compound / moulding paste. You can experiment with adding different paint mediums to get the right consistency.

Even though Moriah didn't enjoy making this, at least she thought it looked cool in the end! It reminds me of rainbow fire! :D
