You got it all right Drew. Morissette was challenged to sing both sitting down and lying on her stomach. She truly is an amazing, versatile artist and really so grounded to have accepted the challenge despite of her popularity and she had fun!! Thanks for the review and looking forward to more of your Mori's song reviews.

So sorry for the absence of subtitles. I'm a Filipino and yeah you got it! GGV (Gandang Gabi Vice) is a comedy talk show in one of our TV networks, ABS-CBN, hosted by "Vice Ganda," a gay comedian. He (or rather "she" hehe) was challenging Morisette, one of our promising artists, to belt out "Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigan Ka" by Regine Velasquez in different positions.

Filipinos are used to speaking both Tagalog and English, so we call it “Taglish”. ☺️

That is an advantage to Foreigners because they would understand some English words if they cannot understand Tagalog.

Hi! A filipina here! Ive been watching your reactions mostly to the Filipino singers. I just wanna let you know that Filipinos are fluent in speaking English because of the history we had. We were once conquered by the Spain, America, and Japan. So you will hear us speak those languages but mostly with spanish and english not so with japanese. And what you hear is what we called TagLish. It means Tagalog and English. You can see most filipinos are fluent in english as we were introduced of english subject in school and we were taught to speak english as it is the universal language and it is how we can communicate with other people in different countries. So you can research about the history of the philippines if you have time. Another note: Philippines have many languages (dialect) in our country because of the many islands that we had we just dont spoke tagalog in our country but you will alse hear bisaya, illongo ,etc. So thats all i can share though if you have some questions you can ask me. And thank you so much for reacting. It is an overwhelming feeling to see other people in other country reacting about us, filipinos. Thanks again.

its called "tag-lish" tagalog-english. That's pretty much what most of us filipino does.
@rhiajavier9025 жыл бұрын
Here in the philippines we usually speak in taglish "tagalog/english". Being colonized by the americans we adopted the language as well as having english subject in school at a very young age. We do switching tagalog to english everytime. There's a lot of english here everywhere you turn. Even the government speaks in english.

To just give a simple explanation on what they were doing is, Vice (the host) is asking her to the challenges to test on how can she sing the hardest part of a song that she can sing. As an amazing singer that she is, she nailed them. 😁. Hoping this was helpful.😊
@mgt19025 жыл бұрын
The reason that Filipinos developed the habit and flexibility of being bilingual (sometimes even multilingual) is because the Philippines has been a Spanish colony from 1521 to 1898 until it was sold by Spain to the Americans in the Treaty of Paris. So, we went from being a Spanish colony to an American territory until World War II when the Japanese Imperial Army invaded in retaliation to the Americans. The rest is history.
@vmanglona725 жыл бұрын
Lol... I don't understand what they were saying either but like you, I think the challenge for Morissette was to see if she can do her whistle in different positions.
@acemozart57425 жыл бұрын
The challenge is if morissette can belt/pull off the same song even with those conditions, the whistle is a bonus since she added it when she does the cover of the song instead of a headvoice.

We mix our leaguage with english because in phillipines English is common were not just speaking Filipino but we speak English too and we mix it with filipino and english it’s like taglish if anyone don’t know what taglish is taglish is English and tagalog which is our language that mix together
@callmekenflores18425 жыл бұрын
The reason why we sometimes switch to english when we are speaking is because most Filipinos dont know the words in tagalog that's why we say it in english instead. Tagalog is our national language.
@kcbondoc47945 жыл бұрын
Filipinos are taught English from pre-school to college so it became kinda like our second language (if not one of the official languages in the Ph) , and so there is this term "Taglish" (Tagalog-English)- meaning the mix of English and Tagalog (whether you speak or write) and I THINK it's considered informal but when you're just casually talking to someone, sure.(when you write documents/ school papers or do an important presentation etc. taglish isn't usually allowed bc they said it just sounds so informal idk) Also why you probably find it weird. Filipino/Tagalog is one of the hardest languages to learn though and I can guarantee you, a lot of Filipinos don't even know some Filipino words, probably why we speak some English in mix with Tagalog bc it's literally hard to speak fluently in it. I hope i helped you somehow to understand. haha :)

The reason why we speak in Tagalog- English its because theres a Tagalog that is very deep in meaning when we speak it, but when it has a easy translations in English we just say it since we still can understand it. I think you should use subtitle😍❤ if it's available. Thanks

nowadays, it's hard to find or meet a filipino who speaks straight tagalog. tagalog is our official language and english is the second. most of english words can't be translated in tagalog. and filipino kids nowadays grow up listening to english songs, watch television with programs in english, a lot of videos on youtube are in english. So what happens is most filipinos speak TAGLISH.
