Brad, she and her boyfriend wrote this song. It's about her falling out with her father/parents. They haven't spokent to each other for a year or so. That's sad, really. Whatever the reasons are, it's sad to see relationships between families break terribly. You can hear that pain in Morissette's voice. Hey Brad, new sub here courtesy of Mori and KZbin algorithms. The song is written by Mori and her BF, Dave Lamar. She also produce it. You can see all the credits/info in the description of the original video. The song is dedicated to her father (kinda open letter) with whom her relationship has gone quite / no contact for over a year now. Essentially, her father dislike her BF and some other fine details not fully out in public. She must have missed her Dad terribly especially during this pandemic. It's her Dad, who is also a musician, that taught her about music and singing techniques from when she was still very young. He guided her too in the music industry. Unfortunately, when love struck Morissette, father and daughter weren't on the same boat. Also, in the PH society, it's quite common that parents meddle in their children's love life even if you're older than 21 y. o. It's sad that Mori found herself in such a situation "You can't have your cake and eat it too". I do hope they're reconcile soon as it might affect Mori's health - emotional or otherwise.
