You know Miss Venetta and Lyndsay, they are two of John’s backup singers and stars in their own right. John makes sure everyone in his family gets to shine. Miss Venetta looks at him like an adoring Mama when he puts his sweaty arm around her and sings. She had her own career in America and she sang for many greats, she was in two movies and when John asked her to sing with him she didn’t want to because she had her own group but she said she would once. No one ever leaves after once and she stayed until she retired. She still teaches voice part time not far from where I live and she is an Aussie Citizen now. Lyndsay was John’s friend from young and talented. He never left until he retired. Same with Lisa who was first and Charles who came later. John didn’t have backup singers, a band or any workers. He only ever had family and that is who he is. He taught me they all have names and no one doing anything is more important than anyone else there. Every concert I have been to John takes a quick break to change into dry clothes. He mostly sings with power for more than 2 hours. So yes he works hard and he was still doing that at his Last Time concerts. This is my favourite version of Amazing Grace.

I believe to get Vanetta as a back up singer, he promised she could sing any song of her choice (she was reluctant to join as she has her own gospel group) and thus we have this pure perfection. Thank you for your great reaction to the GOAT, John Farnham. BTW that is sweat drenching his shirt. Our man works bloody hard to make sure we all have a great time at his concerts each and every time.

Yes, you are correct, this was Vanetta's song, Have you heard the 'He's the Voice' pod casts with Adam Stolfo and Nigel Langes? Vanetta can be heard on episode 13, -she tells the story about this, and Lindsay is on as well, if you haven't heard them, I recommend them (Vanetta is at about the 40 minute mark)

This is my favorite version of this gospel classic from John, venetta and Lindsay, most of which was a cappella. John’s voice just projects so magically, he’s standing meters back and to the side of the mic and yet his voice just powers through with such clarity and emotion simply incredible.

Brad, thank you for your great reaction to our John. Yes, that's sweat on his shirt. He always gives 110% in every live performance that he does, and always ends up soaked in sweat. The singers with him are Venetta Fields and Lindsay Field (no relation to each other). They are his long-time vocal backup singers. I've subscribed to your channel in the hope that you will do many more John reactions. In my opinion, he is the GOAT!!!! Could you please do any or all of these live reactions from his Chain Reaction concert. 'Playing To Win', or 'All Our Sons and Daughters', or 'A Touch Of Paradise, or 'Love's In Need'. Actually, anything from the Chain Reaction concert is mind-blowingly great!! I went to see this concert four times and it was always amazing. Your song at the end was truly beautiful. No it’s not sweat. This was filmed in Tamworth at a drought relief concert where ironically it rained. He is wet from rain not sweat.

@@RachelHaskins No, you're wrong. It most certainly is sweat. This was not filmed in Tamworth. It was filmed at the Melbourne Sports & Entertainment Centre in 1987. This was from John's Whispering Jack concert, and it was an indoor venue. I was at this concert. In fact, I went to three of his Whispering Jack concert performances, and he always ended up soaked in sweat. I have the DVD of his Whispering Jack concert, which includes this song and with him wearing this shirt.

This is our amazing John with his two long-term backing singers Venetta Fields & Lyndsay Field (No relation). This was their warm up song which they shared with the audience. Absolutely amazing. The third back up singer was Lisa Edwards who was not with them at this point. They were all together for decades and John made sure we knew who every single member of the band was. Angus (the drummer) was very popular haha…

Still in the John Farnham rabbit hole. Try Gesthemane, from Jesus Christ Superstar, AND THEN Black Dog. With what you have already reacted to, that will cover most of the range of JF. The best is always live. I have never met anyone who walked out of a JF concert unhappy. What a singer!!! What a performer!! Fun fact, John Farnham as Jesus Christ was to do 6 (?) performances. "Due to popular demand" (people buying tickets), the tour was extended to 72 performances.

My first not nice comment🙄. He probably hasn’t noticed or listened to Venetta or Lindsay as he was busy singing himself. Gee, vid of Amazing Grace has finished and I can hear him singing, he’s singing a whole song, still going as I type. Reactors who sing or play guitars should be reacting not um, oh he’s still singing. I came to listen to John Venetta and Lindsay. Still singing… oh he’s finished. I’ll probably delete this comment. Just get annoyed, lack of sleep and I’m now a grumpy old lady especially when reactors showcase their own music. Let ‘em get their own music channel for reviews.
