Back in January, I was stricken with covid19. I was put on a ventilator and placed in a coma for a long time.. I have no recollection of what happened to me but in my my deepest darkest moments Our Lord Jesus Christ came to me and said "All will be alright and you will be healed". One of the greatest vocal performances I've ever heard. As a follower of Jesus Christ myself, I am in tears from this performance. Her voice is truly a gift from GOD. She is demonstrating elite control of both her thin and thick vocal folds, particularly in the way she switches between the lightest to the heaviest sounds in her toolbox. It's so nuanced, so fluid, so seamless. While her big, heavy vocals gets most of the praise (and rightfully so), her light, intimate vocals are just as elite (or even better, imo). I've seen most of her vocal performances, and *I continue to be astounded by 3 things:* 1. The *wide gradience* of tones she can produce with her vocal cords, from the lightest tones, to the light tones, to the medium tones, to the heavy tones, to the heaviest tones. There is so much nuance in her vocal cord closures; 2. *Absolute, total continuum,* from her lightest to her heaviest tones, with *no gaps* in her vocal compression; 3. Her ability to use *extreme* levels of vocal compression, without losing tonal quality. Highlight of this performance: The crescendo - from a lightly sung E4 with a vibrato offset (starting at 3:00), straight into a heavy toned D5 belted note (3:06). Impeccable dynamics. That D5 belt was *elegant.* Her mid-to high belts are so warm, rich and rounded. She's special, folks. Appreciate this prodigious talent. Thank you, Sir Gary Valenciano for penning this beautiful song and allowing Morissette to reinterpret it.
