Girl same, I've been crying since yesterday! The words have so much personal meaning but the added visuals and analogies.. The loneliness, lost, searching for the light in the vastness. The part where she looks up at the light tower is her like a little girl looking up at her dad, the drowning.. the "but my eyes would give it all a way..." part makes me lose it.... It ends with a good message to those who don't know her story but everyone can relate to this with relationships of their own. Tomorrow always rises... believe in someday, one day, hopefully...

I think most people here understand why this song was written and who it was written for, but the way that Mori and Dave Lamar wrote the lyrics was genius, and here's why: At no point during this song do they ever mention a parent, a child, a sibling, or any other family member or relative. And at no point do they mention a spouse, a fiance, a boyfriend or girlfriend. So even though this song was written for specific reasons, there are millions of people who could take this song and apply it to a situation that they have gone through, or a situation that they are going through right now, and that's why so many people can relate to this song, even if they don't know the story behind it.
