People have mentioned the explanation video. It's really good because 'ddaeng' was used in 7-8 different ways and was exceptionally clever. The video explains what each use of the word means

The numbers relate to the highest winning hands in the Korean card game of Seotda. "One-Eight, One-Three, Three-Eight. Ddaeng", is a metaphor for being invincible and undefeated. Ddang used playing this game is just one of the many meanings of the word. There is a lot of word play and Korean references in this song. I recommend watching dkdktv's explanation.

I advice everybody to watch DKDKTV DDAENG. Daeng is used in 7 different ways. There are many BTS songs you can only get the non pg translations historical cultural and slang explained accurately, by an english speaking korean. Other brilliant songs needing that are BAEPSAE. I would watch DKDKTV BAEPSAE first then the dance practice then stage remix. This is scathing crititicism of the older generation( the storks) who tell young people( the short legged baepsae) they just need to work/ try harder. All hidden in a catch tune and hilarious choreography. Another essential explaination is Sugas ... DKDKTV DAECHITWA

Love the reactions but a technical issue: Does anyone else get half the lyrics blocked by their image? I love the large text but hate how much is obscured. If they ever get to live performances or videos (I hope!) this is going to need to be dealt with. (unless it’s just me)
@YahYah063 ай бұрын
As far as the image goes, it is just how I sized us over the video. It's my way of trying to avoid copyright issues, I was thinking about making the video small and in front of us. It would be big enough to see, but hopefully small enough for KZbin to ignore.
