Her lower range has great depth and bass overtones, which you rarely get from today's sopranos. Also, her middle range has the perfect combo of power and resonance, which again, you don't hear often from today's sopranos . She has a well-developed "open throat" technique that maximizes the resonating space of her vocal tract, which is why her tone maintains a richness and clarity even when singing in the upper range. It never sounds overly thin or shrill. Hindi ipit o manipis yung boses. Listen to this again, from 4:15 🔥🔥🔥 *Also, her voice has a special 2nd harmonic, which blends with her fundamental tone.* I think it's her whistle tones that are sometimes blending with her fundamental tone, which gives her sound an individual purity. She has the unique ability to access those whistle tones with ease, which she utilizes to do her *signature vocal squeaks.* From a Filipino cultural standpoint, her signature techniques (the vocal squeaks) and *gritty style* of singing are breaking the mold of the normal Filipino belter/biritera. A generation ago, it was Regine Velasquez that set the standard. Today, I think there is a new standard, and it's Morissette. You can see a cultural shift, as evidenced by the many young, aspiring Filipino vocalists who are adopting Morissette's style, and using Morissette's song arrangements for competition pieces.

Napakahirap talaga ng arrangement, at pinahirapan pa ni Mori with her techniques (e.g. vocal squeaks). Yung ibang singers kasi, pinapanipis masyado yung boses para madali nga naman maabot yung high notes. Tunog "lata" tuloy. Minsan naman, mahinhin yung tono; Kulang sa core yung boses. Si Morissette, she sings the high belts with a lot of core. Tapos, ang ganda ng openness ng vocal tract nya, kaya ang ganda ng resonance ng boses.
