Did you see the interview with Jay R on the Waleska Herrera channel? When he lived in LA, he actually was asked to meet with 4 major record labels based on his demo tapes. At every meeting, as soon as he walked in the door, their faces changed and they straight up told him “we thought you were black or white. Sorry there’s no market for Asian singers.” No deal. Then for more up tempo, her Defying Gravity from this year while under 'Covid quarantine'. She signed on with Capitol records 2 years ago. Morissette is 24 years old and she's huge star in the Philippines. Her native language which she used to sing this song is called Tagalog. Honestly, she is a better vocalist than most of the popular ones (that's my opinion and the opinions of the other reactors as well) internationally. Morissette is among the best in the world (named after her dad's favourite singer Alanis Morissette). She has no formal training as such. Her original language is from the Cebu area of the Philippines and is Bisaya ( one of 195 languages and dialects of the 100 million plus peoples of this island nation) The song was written by Salazar based on his own experience and written in Tagalog (one of two national languages the other being English). Mori speaks all three languages and can sing in foreign languages without noticible accent. You can review her using wiki to gain more insight on her talent and personality. She recently got engaged to her boyfriend Dave who has been a great supporter in her climb to stardom and also accompanies her with playing (and singing). Mori has done covers of many songs and her versions are considered better than the originals by many of you "reactors". She also has a number of originals that need more 'airing' to which we all thank you and your like in doing so.
