You know, it's usually one or the other; huge dman that uses his size effectively but has average to slightly above average hockey sense/IQ. Or, smaller dman that has every tool at an elite level but lacks the size and strength to pair with said elite IQ and hockey sense. Rarely do we see a dman with a big frame, knows how to use it on an elite level and has elite hockey sense/IQ. My prediction for Mo Seider's career in Detroit: Year 1: Top 4 right away, slowly eased into PP and PK duties, 16-20 minutes per game, Calder trophy finalist/winner Year 2: Solidifies his spot as a top pairing dman, 20-25 minutes a night Years 3 - 5: Stevie slaps an A on his sweater as he continues to show his priceless on ice and off ice proficiency and shows he's a leader in the locker room Years 6 - retirement: Becomes the 38th Captain of the Detroit Red Wings after Dylan Larkin retires. During this time wins the Stanley Cup x 2, wins the Lindsay, Hart, Conn Smythe, Norris etc atleast once. Just my prediction, but not far fetched at all! I've never been so excited for a prospect in the Detroit system since Pavel Datsyuk first entered the league.

@@p.e.4676 I'd guarantee it. Unless he gets injured or something he should be in Detroit opening night. He probably would have been on the team this year if it weren't for the uncertainty of the league's start date.

@@vaporz391 I don't think you guys have too much to worry about. There's worse picks to be made at 28th overall, and you somehow managed to walk away with Seth Jarvis at 13th overall the next year, who I thought people were sleeping on too much. That could end up being a major steal imo. I liked the other players you took last year too, like Gunler, Ponomaryov, Nybeck, Pashin. Even if we're talking 2019, I liked the other picks you guys made, like Jamieson Rees, Patrik Puistola. Honka was a solid gamble in the 3rd round. I consider myself a huge admirer of your scouting staff, honestly. Even without top 10 picks, you always seem to make off like bandits with a haul of very smart, high upside selections lol.
@vaporz3913 жыл бұрын
@@spookbusterstirner5865 yea but you don’t find a lot of defenseman like Seider, he’s big ,physical, can skate really well for a big guy on top of being Rey good on the offensive side of things and on top of all that he is a righty😮💨 (I’m fine with our pick especially that entire draft)
@spookbusterstirner58653 жыл бұрын
@@vaporz391 Lol fair enough. To be honest, I'm finding it really challenging tempering my expectations for him. I really want to avoid jumping the gun and expecting the world from the kid, but even discounting his season in Grand Rapids, where he was fantastic, everything that we've seen from him over the course of this year seems to suggest he has genuine potential to be one of the best young defensemen in the league in a few years. At the very least, he's the most polished defenseman I've ever seen within the Wings pipeline at his age (I don't count Lidstrom, because I was still a baby when he was Seider's age). Like I said though, I and a lot of fans are trying to pump the brakes until he hits NHL ice, which is probably going to be in October.
