For years I’ve liked the Bad Horsie but I love the cocked wah sound from the Wah Lock. As you said, “violin-like tones”. 👍

I just bought one and am waiting to receive it. Just wondering because I haven’t heard it mentioned yet, is there any volume change when you engage this Wah pedal? Slightly lower volume doesn’t bother me but I don’t want it to boost the volume. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Great demo, Brett! Morley was my first wah. Back in the early 80's, my parents got me a Power Wah Fuzz that I saw in a local music store. May just grab the Classic.

Fantastic! Both the playing and demos of all the features. My own ancient (err, I mean “vintage,” lol) steel Morley just gave up the ghost after 40+ years and the local store said it was cheaper to just get a new one than try to fix it. Big fan of Mr. Vai so was dying to know what the Horsie sounded like alongside the other models. That sounds the most like my old school seven-octave version. Decision easily made, thank you!!

I was surprised at the tone you got from the Distortion Wah, sounded nice.

Great demo Brett! Have wondered about buying a Morley for a long time, Especially after having to fix or replace a scratchy pot on a regular Wah! My old Colorsound wah fuzz is still going but for how long? Cool to see a Crunchbox in action, good onya mate, they've been copied by so many Boutique makers. 👍

Morley's photoresistor pedal technology is the best "moving pedal" technology on the market, and BY FAR. All the snobs who pretend that the "magical sweep" of a standard rotating potentiometer within any cry-baby copy is anything superior to a photoresistor are a cre tins. All standard rotating potentiometers quickly wind up crackling. I have a Morley wah-volume since the end of the 1980s, and I never ever had anything to do to repair it except changing the tiny light bulb within the pedal, and it still works perfectly to this day. And guess what ... you can easily modify the sweep by changing the "light dimming device" within the pedal.

Great video. I have the Morley skeleton wah but it's not thick enough for modern US style high gain. Would the bad horsie be a better option? Thanks!

Had the bad horsie 2 for awhile, loved it but sold it due to limited pedal board space.

Morley should just add that wha lock to all their whas.

I had the older Wah/Vol model. Great wah and volume. Only issue was that you really noticed that it was never true bypass (not sure if that is the case in this newer version) so I always ended up running it in a loop. Sorry, not the only issue: it was also massive and took up enough room to double as a surfboard.

Size is the precise reason why I’m looking to replace my BH2. Maybe I’ll just stick it on the floor next to my pedalboard.

I guess I'm still confused by which of these pedals have spring-loaded auto-return and which aren't spring-loaded? I get that they're all 'switchless' in that you don't have to push all the way (toe down) to engage them but aren't some with spring return and some without?

I have a crybaby 535q . It seems to get lost when playing with gain . The Morelys seem to handle distortion or gain better . Is this what I am hearing? Thanks Brett great demo man love your channel

Hi Brett. You seem to be the only one on KZbin I can find that has tried virtually all of Morley’s current lineup of wah pedals. Can you tell me which one you think is the best for a vintage clean funk type sound? Thanks

Great demo Brett! Only one criticism.... You had FIVE wah pedals there and you did NOT go the full Kirk Hammett! 🤣

Only Kirk can do Kirk, Pete. I dare not go there.

Brett,do they have the adjustment inside to adjust how long it takes for the wha to shut off when you release it like the original bad horsie did?
@countzero51509 ай бұрын
The morleys aren't my favorite sounding wah, honestly I prefer the old school crybaby. But I don't really use a wah exept to briefly accentuate a note or passage and the operation of the morleys is just perfect for that. I've got an old 1996 bad horsey on my board, it will probably be there forever.
@luiza177music11 ай бұрын
The Wah Lock would've been the perfect wah for me, but the sweep felt awful, almost binary, hardly.

All of these amazing wah style enclosures with controls and Morley managed not to reissue the Pro-Phaser?! WHY!!!???

I hate to leave negative review about something especially when I don't actually own it, but that George Lynch wha as awesome as it looks, it's just way too expensive! I could be totally wrong about this and if I am I apologize, but I don't see a lot of use for that woah feature and I think it should have just been left for a different wha altogether. I also got to say that after seeing George play live when his first dragon wha, and standing two feet from his pedal board noticing that he did not even use this wha at all, he used to cry baby really disapointed me.
