On the watering of yards, according to experts in how to effectively water you grass to soak your lawn for hours in one area is wasteful and causes problems with lawns saturated overnight. Early morning prior to sunrise is a better time to allow the water to seep into the ground further forcing the grass roots to grow deeper thus a stronger and healthier lawn overall. On all these organizations seeking to have personal organizations defending their particular religion, I believe the First Amendment covers ALL religions providing protection for the practices of all religious freedoms as it was originally intended by our Founding Fathers. The government is not to interfere with the operation of any religious organization, and contrary to popular belief there is no mention of Separation of Church and State in the 1st Amendment and if anything, the intent was the Church was to have power to intervene in political matters and not visa versa.

The Church donated 5700 water shares to the Great Salt Lake. That’s 20,000 acre feet annually.

That is a good donation of water. I wonder if this was water that was not being used and was already flowing into the lake. Regardless, this water now can not be sold to any other water user in the future, so it will benefit the lake. I would like to see the church implement water saving measures at every property it owns. Less grass, less watering. It could do so much good if the church would lead by example.

That's a proverbial drop in the lake. It's likely that 20,000 af of water from the lake evaporates during the hottest week of summer
