I was feeling lost. During the Christmas season, there is no one. My mother died this year; there is no one. I am a widow; all aunts, uncles, and cousins have passed. I have no children. I felt so sad. Now, it is well with my soul. This performance pulled me right out of the deep black hole. I am alive, and my work continues. The concert was brilliant. ❤❤❤❤❤❤thank you a thousand times.

Stephanie, please try your best to not give into that "alone" feeling. It's only temporary...always a phase and always phases are temporary. You are not ever 100% alone. Jesus does not allow that ever! Talk with others...smile at kind looking little families and children. Go shopping and stroll around but only buy something small for someone else~♡

My husband went to heaven three years ago. He loved this hymn and always had tears rolling down his cheeks, but he did not know the story. I wish we had known it, and he always said he wanted this hymn sung at his funeral. It took me hours to find our CD with this hymn but late at night I found the CD with David Phelps singing! He would have been so pleased. For some reason I have missed him very much today and I came across this video tonight. I can say IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL!

This Christmas (2024) will be the 8th Christmas without my sweet daughter, Rachel. She passed away in my arms just weeks before her 4th birthday from brain cancer. I begged the Lord that her death would not ruin me, would not ruin my family and-- most importantly-- would not make me hate Him. I didn't want to be separated from a truly great and benevolent God, if He was there. I wasn't sure by the time we had to sign the DNR. Her passing was more painful than I could have imagined, but also strangely filled with more peace, gratitude and witness of God than i ever knew possible.

Truly, out of the ashes and through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can all be healed, reunited, and sealed up in the heavens to our everlasting and Eternal Parents. This is one of the most beautiful & uplifting experiences I have been fortunate enough to witness. After several years of sorrow & feeling empty & alone, I began to feel better & happier than I had felt in years since this summer. Today I happened upon this program w/ Hugh Bonneville as the narrator & the wonderful Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s uplifting voices singing the words to the song. But it was the addition of the acting out of the story of the family who lost so much, especially their dear children. Yet the parents faith & belief in God’s power to heal even the most hurting of hearts that moved me the most. I am learning this lesson of rising above the sorrow & tragedies of life one step at a time. I thank you for sharing this amazing story, the music & the voices of the Choir & Mr. Bonneville’s presence to tell the story so well! God bless you all!

I am so blessed to have been able to learn the history of this song. My sister sings this song when things are not going well, also when things are brighter. She, as well as I, Take comfort in knowing that whatever comes our way. 'It is well, it is well with my soul.'🎼

This coming month it will be 8 years since my darling husband and best friend passed away after only a brief 7 weeks of illness. I was so angry at God for taking him. This was the most severe crisis of faith ever in my life. It did pass and I could feel God's hand in it again. There have been so many moments of joy and blessing since then that I will never let myself despair again.

Wow. I’m a staunch atheist but I grew up singing these hymns & to hear that massive choir in real life must’ve been incredible.

What a beautiful way to receive a Blessing! Sincere thanks to all the persons involved to make this possible for all of us. May God keep hearing your soul reaching out to HIM in prayer saying: “IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL”. This is a lesson and Blessing for a lifetime inspired from above.

I have performed that song many times over the years. I never knew the story behind that song. I am moved to tears. Never again will I sing this song without recalling the tragedy that led to its creation. As for today - it is well with my soul. Blessings to all.

This is so appropriate for the times we are in. Think it should be broadcast on TV again.

We all have the freedom to make choices of all sort as we go though our days. My choice is to follow Jesus Christ all the day of my life, asking that he guide me and teach me the best pathway for my life, that he keep a watch over me, protect from evil and grant me His peace. And, that He help me become an instrument through which His Will becomes evident in the things that I think, do and say.
