An afternoon agate hunting on one of my favorite spots. I baked up some treats for the trip. Those are the cookies in the beginning of the video. We found some really nice agates on this trip. The lemon yellow agate is far more detailed than the camera can pick up in an unpolished state. Agate banding is notoriously difficult to pick up on camera in the field. The large nodule will be quite pretty when it cleans up. It has clear and yellow bands in a light pink chalcedony.
A constant in our videos are some rather nice quality jaspers. I've been building up a nice collection of it, and it's nearly enough to fill a box. We're going to be giving that away as a part of our 1000 subscriber episode. We'll release details on that as we get closer. There's going to be a few other boxes as well. We're trying to make it a fun thing for the amazing folks who have been watching our videos and being patient with me as I try out different filming methods.
I'm going to be getting a PO Box soon. I'll add that to every video once that happens.
People say that's better than giving out a mailing address. I suppose there's some wisdom in that. Prolly safer for package delivery at least. ;)
UPDATE: I got a PO Box for channel mail.

Thanks for sharing this. Right now all my NW Illinois/NE Iowa "hunting grounds" are either buried under 6" of snow or iced over with more cold and snow coming. Beautiful finds, the agate @4:19 is my personal favorite for this trip. My bet is the banding really pops when it's clean. Pretty Jaspers, really like the Jasp-agate(?) @2:40. Again, Thanks for taking us along... And, as always... Good Luck, Have Fun, and Keep on Houndin'... Steve.

Thanks for sharing... Love the rocks. So many minerals in abundance. When I am out along the river banks, eyes on the rocks, and treasures. You are giving education as well on your finds. I didn't know we had 'chalcedony' in jaspers. I have samples of this, that explains the translucency.

It's a case of taking multiple routes to get to the same place. Whether filled solidified sediment or cemented through absorbance the effect is similar. Chalcedony tends to allow the possibility of translucency.

50th thumb 👍up. There was gold under that one Agate. 😆 I actually find some nice stuff on the Clackamas. I also clean alot of lead and mercury, bottle caps, hooks, glass, general trash out of the Clackamas while hunting for Gold. And you'd never know I was there.😉 (unless your one of those type that like flying drones and when you see someone doing "something" you want to hover on top of them for 30 mins like some apparent busy body Karen's I've come across) 🤦‍♂️ Sorry, had to 😆

There's a ton of gold under a great many of the spots we visit. It's alleged that it's high and dry when it's really hands & pans. Most muggles lack the vehicle or vehicular fortitude to reach the spots responsible folks go to play. It's like a good natured inside lead for fun adventures. It feels good having knowledge and wisdon only a select few adventurers learn. Huh? ;) Thanks for watching, and may all your pans make you smile.
