We got out for a bit of gravel bar hopping after the river levels dropped a bit. There were quite a few cool finds. That script pattern, wildfire jasper was a real delight for me. About an hour later I found that honker of an agate. When I was setting up for the shot with the orange carnelian, I captured the orb. It wasn't there on the display. I only saw it once I got the footage cued up for editing.I was excited because the orb color shifted from white to blue then green.

Wow thanks for sharing. That's the brightest agate I have seen very beautiful! The fossil clam is a awesome find. Can't wait for you to cut that one agate and see what it's hiding for sure. Have a awesome day. ✌

Like your video. Do you ever find the blue agates? they have a white coating, but underneath after tumbling the magic comes through..here locally.

I've found a few blue agates, but not many. There is a lot of blue jasper here if you know where to look. It's slowly eroding out of areas that don't get high flows of water. We're going to try to get out to some of those spots this year as long as the fire season doesn't kick up.

Those jaspers may not contain silica. A knife blade will tell the tale use it to see if the jasper can be scratched if not it contains silica. Non silica jaspers aren't as valuable. I saw a few killer carnelians early in the video. I'd buy some of those nice golden color. The cool amber looking piece is petrified mud with broken shells all in it. It would make some cool jewelry.

I do discreet scratch tests if I don't know, but there's a "feel" and a "look" to the more silicated material. There are some truly monolithic pieces of carnelian and sard here. I'm limited by where I live, and how much noise I can make. I'd be cutting slabs all day. A sad but true limiting circumstance for the time being.

Wow!!! You found some killer jasper on this one! I love that chunk of pet wood, really nice tight growth rings, that is just amazing dude! I have to admit you killed it, the river brought you a lot of new material this time, it was really fun to watch :)
