---- While debating post-Civil War history, Don Lemon from CNN preposterously claimed that “black people still aren’t allowed to enjoy their freedoms.” That’s an insult to the progress we’ve made over the last 160 years. His comments embody what’s wrong with the dialogue about race in America. I told him so without apology. Adding insult to injury, he added “When you have black skin and you live in this country, then you can disagree with me.” We should be able to have open debate no matter our skin color. It’s time to start talking openly again. All of us.

Lincoln even went so far to try to send Black Americans to Haiti and other black countries but those countries wouldn't accept Lincoln's proposal. North want abolished slavery (black free ), and the South want to keep slavery. Freedom means black people can enjoy liberty like whites, including a bear army ( gun ownership). South enacted laws in South (Democratic party) to prevent black to enjoy liberty which includes gun ownership. Also, it leads to a civil rights movement.
