Mornings can be a challenging time for any family, but having kids on the spectrum adds another level! In this video you will see how regularly following a routine can make the chaos a lot more manageable. When the boys know what the next step is and what’s expected of them they are able to get ready with only minimal prompting. Mind you this has taken many years and lots of trial and error!
Disclaimer - I’m not sure if it was because we were filming but everything in the morning routine seemed to go a lot more smoothly than it often does! Usually there is a lot of procrastination and prompting going on. Sometimes a tantrum or meltdown and other times they are really hyped up from what they have been watching on KZbin on their ipads!

Thanks Lisa! We are definitely not alone in the Neurodiversity community ! I imagine that across what ever country each of us lives in there are many parents going through similar struggles each morning. We should be proud that each morning we get up and do it all again. Some mornings go ok and some feel like disasters but we through it!!

Occupational therapy, special education, language training five days a week but These are paid. The state offers two lessons a week for free. There are special classes in schools for school-age children, where they receive one-on-one education. ❤ in turkey.

I think we all do to some degree, but I imagine its worse for autistic people?! You can’t just turn it off or always push through?

You are right but technically ive learnt it's not the unexpected but the expected I'm okay with what's in my mind and what I have planned to do but expectation from anyone for any reason is stressful this is why phonecalls and conversations that aren't initiated by us are difficult because we are expected to talk at the same time that it's unexpected to our thought process or plan but the expectation from the other person to talk is the issue🤣🤣 it can come across as being controlling to some in my experience but it's due to extreme high levels of anxiety I've learned so we can only deal with what we expect from ourselves what we have laid out in our brains not expectation from others or life demands. That was so hard to explain and probably sounds like gibberish 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️😬
