I hesitate to make comments about other peoples lives and not knowing the full situation.But at one year old the girls should be with you full time now.And as someone suggested the grand parent and aunts should be visiting you not the other way around.I have mentioned before to hire someone for a few hours a day.

Maybe it’s time for you to have them full time as they need to learn everything from you not from Thai family in terms of education. It’s very important to teach them the way you want them to be and educate them right at the beginning of life from very young age. They will be fine once they get used to your system. YES!!! FULL TIME! Don’t give up no matter how hard it gets. Bottom line they’re your kids….we made a lot of smoothies for breakfast when we spend our winters in Thailand. Fruit is cheap and I’m sure the girls will love it.

So much advice, but I'll add my two pennies worth! You might get them to eat a bit more by mashing the food and it might be easier for them. Mashed bananas a big favourite - you can add some plain yoghurt. Carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, chicken, pumpkin,green veg, eggs in any combination. You could mix in a bit of fish meat too, if it's soft. Try making some porridge (oats) and add some pureed fruit. Mash with a fork, or push through a metal sieve or get a liquidiser for the more solid foods. The choice is yours!

Hi Ricky, I used to get in the playpen with my son too😂 Great to see the twins have settled down now and you yourself appear more at ease😊 You mention they cry when you go to do something away from them, when my son was like that, I’d calm him by letting him know I was still there,… and about the balloons being popped, just be vigilant with that, in case small pieces are amongst the playpen, floor, bedding and furnishings, as they’re at that age picking little things up and putting into their mouths, I’m sure you’re onto that straight away😊👍 Yes most definitely have the family visit if they’re missing Lily and Daisy to keep them at ease 😊🙏🏼

I always miss the live stream but, once again, this is so good, chatting with friends and hearing how you're going is great. Considering you're only in the early days of having the twins 24/7 and feeding solids is only started you are doing incredibly well. I'm pretty sure that taking them back to the village for a few days will mess with the routine you've got going but they'll be excited to see you. And the best compromise is some time in daycare for sure. Re-charge your own batteries too . Your Mum must feel soooo proud of you 💖

But advise overload leads to anxiety in parents which in turn gets passed on to parents. Disclaimer:-- I was maternity trained in the olden days of late 60's. Plus my kids are now 44, 42 and 32. The first 2 raised in single parent household.

Ricky, please don't take the Internet critics seriously. As a mother of 2 kids under 5, I know how mentally stressful and physically overwhelming being a caretaker is. Looking after 2 very young kids like Lily and Diasy is even harder. Don't be hard on yourself. We all need a break. I need a break constantly. I need half a day in the week atleast to myself. I don't live near family or else I would take advantage of the extra helping hands like you do. Sharing the kids with the thai in-laws makes perfect sense for you at the moment. I totally understand you. Your mental health is more important than trying to prove yourself as this "super dad" for strangers online. It takes a village to raise our little ones. You would be stupid not to take the extra help. I support you 100%. I can see how much you love your twins. Being a single parent is difficult. Please ignore the immature critics and do what works best for your emotional, mental and physical well being. The twins need their dad to be mentally sound and physically healthy. So you cannot be a super dad who refuses help. Take advantage of the extra helping hands. Don't stress about what others think. Many of us parents who watch you understand your position.

Hi Ricky, on food suggestions they make like steamed rice with soft veggies steamed, you can get auto shut off rice cooker with steamer insert so both can be done at the same time. A little veggie soup with rice will also may be a good way to start solid food .They may be used to rice by now, gradually you can introduce different foods once they get used to eating solid food. My kids loved veggie with noodles as babies . It is a matter of trying different combinations then you will start having a schedule .

Your Mum has given some good every day common sense advice around the twins- like at 1yr have regular milk, stay calm and relaxed when dealing with the twins - especially if they are crying & fussing and theres nothing you can do to change it, have faith in yourself. Having her around, really any extra person around eases the load considerably. Yet day care is something you need to be very wary of with babies - until they can talk and are toilet trained for the day. Her idea twins playing with peers is excellent - but via a local weekly play group with parents present for a couple of hours. Food wise your mother is bad news for part Asian premature twin babies. She is gives the twins processed foods that are saturated in fat and high salt or the sweets commercial baby foods with sweet flavour using various types of sugars. She is sending their taste preferences the wrong way. Meat and a bit of rice or mashed potato is OK, a bit of wheat bix or instant plain porridge and milk, give real mashed bananas, paw paws and other fruits and veges instead of those horrid processed sachets of sweet goo. Some of the sachets are OK made with meat & traditional vegetables( not with sweet potato). Twins would be best off going to Thai family around Friday mid day and being picked up Monday 3pm. 💥[Sweet potato if home cooked and used in a meal is great, but not the commercial use in baby foods where it's really used as a sneaky sweetener] 💥[ Asians are more suseptible to high blood pressure, cardiovascular disorders, diabetes. Plus prem babies do not have as good insulin resistance (as early as 10 yrs)or as many nephrons in their kidneys as full term babies 💥so a healthy diet is way more important for your girls. Plus shaping their tastes makes it easier to endure and even enjoy a healthy diet.] {💫Your Mums way of eating would be fine if the twins were full term fully Western kids and can count on them being active both in childhood and adulthood like her.💫}
