Hey mate I read a comment below about custody of kids and stuff in Thailand which you and I replied to. Been thinking about what they said and feel like I have to tell you this, go and get some legal advise from a good lawyer in a firm preferably a Western at that firm and just find out for sure what your rights are and what you need to do to protect yourself and the twins in the future.

Love this! I'm sure most folk watching your videos are cheering you on! I am a single mum and raising one child is hard enough, let along two. I welcome all the support I can get from friends and family. You definitely do not have to justify your life and the choices you make to anyone. If viewers don't like what they are seeing...why on earth are they watching?! All parents are making it up as they go along...after all, kids and life do not come with an instruction manual. You're doing great!

It is better for you to accept help from their Grandma than to struggle and not do a good job. No reflection on you but for anyone it would be hard to care for them 24/7 and also provide for them. You have not one but two babies and wait till they start crawling and running around. This arrangement is good for now. Things will change as they grow.

It’s great that you are sharing the cute twins with their grandmother, as you may now know that in Thailand, the family is very close knit one. The twins are sort of a remembrance of her late daughter! The twins are in good hands with their grandmother too. All the best to you and love to the twins.

Ricky, sharing the twins with Grandma is the very BEST decision for you, the kids and grandma. I am African and there is a saying where i come from that "a child is raised by the entire village and not jsut the parents". I buy into this and i support you fully. Raising any child is stress and if you want to enjoy your children and enjoy them and vice versa, you will need all the support you can get. Presently, your best support is Eid's family cos we trust them fully. Please do not explain this issue anymore. We love to see you and the kids so please keep on with your content as it is. Have fun Ricky and enjoy the babies and enjoy your life in Thailand

I think under the circumstances you are doing exactly what is best for your girls. Spending time with Grandma they will learn Thai culture and the language. You can teach them English and your culture. Children are very adaptable and will thrive under this arrangement. A friend of mine spoke French only to her children and her husband only English and by the time they where 3 they spoke both languages very well. Eid would want this for her Mom and babies. It takes a village to help raise children. Best of both worlds the way I see it. ❤

I think you are really doing good decissions for you and the girls . Stay safe 😘

The first comment is from someone who obviously does not stay here. As we both know your not dumping the kids with the granny. The fact is she wants them to have time with her and the rest of the family. Family is a massive thing here in Thailand. I have two nephews who stay with me and there is nothing strange about it. Their parents work in other locations so we are happy to have them. It's the Thai way. If you were in OZ the kids would probably be in child care while you work. It's better they are with their family.

Hi Ricky, there are so many people with so many opinions and personal views which I have heard in my life and I found that following my own heart and path has served me best. I, as anyone else have my own options and views on what I value and how life should be but I do not pretend to know and prescribe how someone else should live theirs. You picked out two great examples of comments that although perhaps trying to help are not in your shoes and do not know what is best in your situation at all or know all the nuances and details of your life. You answered these comments perfectly in your video btw. You are managing the situation perfectly imho, you have found a perfect balance that is practical, emotionally supportive to all involved, and benefits the girls, grand ma, your in-laws and yourself. It would be a mistake and wrong to deprive this experience and sharing together the girls at this beautiful stage of their lives. Life is long and it will wind in many directions and in many ways and almost always ends up much better than we think it will. No need to act on things that are not relevant in the present as is our human nature and tendency. So bud, keep doing what you're doing, it has been a difficult year with everybody's loss. This togetherness is what everyone needs to heal and this sharing will, in the short and long run help everybody get through this big emotional challenge. You're doing an amazing job and keep up the good work on your channel. Watching your videos really makes me miss Thailand. Cheers, from a Thailand loving Farung from Vancouver, Canada

Very well said! I have to admit, I wouldn’t have given such a gracious and understanding response! At the end of the day, you are living your life, no one else is living it for you. Your decisions make perfect sense to me, and I totally get where you are coming from. I can understand you’re trying to keep the peace, with your family, while also accepting their very much needed help, in a foreign country. Of course you are young, life’s a learning game at any age, but you’re not a monk! If people feel you should be staying at home, twiddling your thumbs from dawn to dusk & back again, without interaction, including socialising with other people, then that’s their prerogative. But I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, this is YOUR life, which is nobody else’s business but your own! I can’t see any chains shackling people to your channel, so If they have issues, they can simply walk away! However, if they can behave like most normal adults, and give constructive advice, to help, or even make suggestions for you to consider, then fair play! Anything else is just bullying/trolling in my opinion, which is unacceptable! My little offering of help, which you can choose to consider, or dismiss, is: continue doing what makes you happy, and the fine man that you are, and ignore the baiting. If I were your mum, I’d be so proud of you, and your gorgeous young babies! Much love, from the UK! XX

Hey Ricky, you are doing great mate🎉,, those kids have the best life in front of them,, tell the neysayers to go ride a bike, i just tripled my membership contribution because of this vlog. You are doing the right thing, and my guess is a lot of your viewers do not understand Thai family village life. Don't let the rubbish comments create doubt or bring you down. Cannot wait for our introduction to new good friend, i hope you bring her out of the spare room soon 😂, Cheers Ricky

Great talk Ricky setting the record straight 👍the big takeaway is that people outside of Thailand don't have an understanding of the culture that is for sure, It's great that you have met someone too. I can imagine the isolation must have been horrendous, are you going to or are you learning Thai Mate?

@@rickyisaan thx for the reply Ricky, your 100% in the right environment to learn, I have been trying to learn but its easy to get distracted without having to practice on people in the street, but on the other side I have taught my wife to fluently use the word "dickhead" especially when we are driving 😁

Good conversation Ricky... appreciate knowing more....have been a little critical of you as well, which I apologize for. regarding work: Older rural Thais likely do not understand KZbin monetization. Yet a job is necessary to save money for the future and am glad to hear you have other irons on the fire. Wish you the best....agree better to do your own thing and not work for other people, or have a 9-5 job. All the best....a difficult situation for sure, stay strong

I hope you're doing well. I saw your video that KZbin recommended, and I want to say how much I admire your strength and love for your beautiful twins. It's clear that you're doing a great job despite the challenges. Remember, it's okay to ask for help when you need it. The Thai family supporting you is a blessing, and as they say, it takes a village to raise a child. Your girls always have smiles when they look at you because they know your love and care. Keep doing what's best for you and the girls.

As someone who grew up and spent most of my life in a third-world country, let me tell you this: I lived 24 years of my life in a third-world country and moved to Japan. Then I realized how much I missed - education, money, discipline, and more. My father and grandparents are British, but they lived in a third-world country because the British pounds were worth more there. My mom and siblings always think about what a stupid decision it was to keep us in a country like this. Don't do that to your girls.

Keep up the good work. Life is too short; everyone doesn't think the same. When we post anything online there's always someone wanting to judge someone else life. Live your life and do the best you can and be happy.......That's all. No one is perfect and no one can take anything with them when they leave this earth. Take care Ricky and everyone, and I wish everyone happiness and great fortune.

You just keep doing you! Biking is for your health, but especially your mental health. After having the most traumatic loss of losing your soulmate it's important to stay on top of mental health. I think it's great that you are sharing the girls with their Grandma. You're right, you would be away from your girls working a 9 to 5 job so if this scenario works best for you then that's all that matters. I'm a single parent of a 5 yr old & lost my soulmate of 10 yrs so I relate to your pain. I can also relate to wanting to work a job that allows you to have time with your children. I think it's amazing that you want to keep this lifestyle so you can have that quality time with the babies! I wish you continued peace & contentment 🙏. Keep on your journey & don't let the comments get you down.

I think it is good you make use of the your wife's family to help you raise your children. It is a big help and allows you to live your life. Being a single parent is hard, especially in a foreign country. The mother in law is a big help with your children learning Thai and preparing to them for school. The whole situation is a difficult one, for both you and your mother in law. ATB

Hi Rick basically I think you are doing a great job looking after your twins, I am lucky to have been with a Thai lady for 25 years, and there are lots children and babies in my large Thai family, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your grandmother looking after the twins it will help develop the girls communicating , and learning being around different family members and feeling all the love , I think some people forget that your girls are half Thai , let the girls learn western values and Thai culture from the start I and my big family agree , keep up the great job you are doing as a new father xxx
