Your dinner looks delicious Granny! I remember my Grandma making cornbread. She had 8 children and told me that one time all she had in the house was oatmeal. She made them oatmeal for breakfast and sent them to school with oatcakes. She didn't know what she was going to do for supper. Her brother Dan arrived with a bushel of apples and a side of pork. She said that she felt like a millionaire.❤

Good morning Granny. First things first I absolutely love your videos!! I watch them either before or after work depending on my schedule. I am a Registered nurse in Windsor Ontario Canada. Windsor is directly across the border from Detroit Michigan so if you are ever in the area you always have a place to stay! I love the stories you tell about growing up although it sounded hard at the time for you as a child. But I really enjoy hearing about the simplicity of it back then. Life has just become so chaotic with no time to slow down long enough just to “be present in that moment “ if that makes sense?Makes me wonder about where our lives are headed today. Thanks again, Granny for sharing your life and your time with us. Have a great day! P.S. That looks delicious!!

I had to laugh out loud when you said, "I wish I had somebody to clean up after me." Isn't that the truth! Once in a while when I'm waiting at the car repair place, I watch those chef competition shows, and the chefs cook great, and someone wins the contest - but I wanna see the guy who cleans up the kitchen after them get a prize! 🤣 I mean, you see them dirtying all kinds of pans and mixing bowls and food processors and throwing flour all over the place, making a bigger mess than a 7 year old in the space of 20 minutes! Let's have an *honest chef competition show that shows the *mess they made, along with their pretty dish, lol! To me, the unseen clean up guy is the real hero of the contest. I really enjoy your cooking videos, and the corn bread in the skillet looked so lovely.

I got some hard yellow squash one year and the skins were tough and leathery. That was the darndest thing. I waste not so I sat there and ate all the tender part from them. I am too lazy to pan fry. I broil everything! My girl cat gets scared from any burn smell coming from the stove too. I've told her the smoke alarm going off is how I know it's done honey! I keep little shelf stable milks around for those times. My husband gets one in his lunch too if he gets a brownie or something. I do as little milk or milk products as possible nowadays too. Bless.

With the problem with your van .You could have water in your gas tank .Moisture in the gas line .The gas filters could cause issues .The fuel injector could be clogged .Your carburetor could get stuck inside with the flap not closing .Also we had an old car and the car which had rubber gasket hoses into the carburetor that cracked and no one could figure out how to fix it . And it was not easy getting parts for that item .We enjoy watching you with all your great ideas that you speak about take care

It all looks so good. My mother used to make Lima beans with ham hocks when I was a kid . I loved them . I am 70 and just can’t eat hardly anything any more . I love all the vegetables but my stomach just don t tolerate them . I have been getting diverticulitis attacks for the past few years . So I can only eat very boring bland foods . Nothing healthy. It’s not a even worth eating at all .

When I was a kid, our house burned, and we moved to the country. If not for Mom raising chickens to butcher, and putting out a big garden to can and freeze food, raising hogs and calves to butcher we wouldn't have eaten as well. I didn't realize how poor we were at the time. Anyway, Mom taught me to make fried corn cakes, and we had that for lunch most all summer. We thought it was pretty tasty. 😉
