Totally agree with regard to the scent. I actually stopped using the products because of it. It is too strong and just like Irvy said, it follows you around to the point where you can taste it in your food. As someone who suffers from migraines, I was afraid it would end up becoming a trigger for my attacks so I simply stopped buying the line and switched to a different professional line. Not to mention that much fragrance causes scalp sensitization and redness. Great product, totally exaggerated smell. And it gets worse if you use it with the mask! My mom told me I smelled like a vintage boutique.

@@MD-ju7ms I've tried the hydration shampoo and mask, and they both smelled exactly the same and just as strong. What convinced me to try the products out was that, at the salon, the hairdresser used one of their finishing sprays and it smelled amazing. The scent faded nicely but was still present enough that I could smell my hair and be enticed. They were sold-out of the spray, so I got the shampoo and mask instead, but I didn't expect their scent to overpower that of the spray! My mom kept laughing while passing me by in the house, saying I smell like a vintage shop or like one of those overpowering burning sticks. I think the spray he used was from an older batch and perhaps that's why it was sold-out and also more discrete.

Moroccanoil People, what have you done to the original shampoos n conditioners? You have messed up your products to the worst possible extent. I was using your products for a long time and it’s not the same. I’m dealing with terrible hair problems including extreme hair loss since the past 2 years.

I’ve had a completely different experience with the shampoo and conditioner. It made my hair incredibly soft and silky, no other product had done it before. I didn’t feel any of the dryness that people were complaining about and I felt extremely clean. I was skeptical but it seems that it worked fine for me! I wonder why people are getting such drastically different results. Also my hair is on the thin side and tends to get oily quick.

Same here …im extremely happy after using this product..idk why people are putting their negetive feedbacks…honestly speaking i had been trying different shampoos that would suit my hair type-(my hair is thin and wavy tends to get oily on 2-3rd day and dry at ends)..after using this shampoo my hairs were damn soft ofc i used a conditioner but not morrocon ones i used nykaa one but trust its the best shampoo and people complaining about smell?..its heavenly plus it gives a shine to your hair..definitely go buy this!

I was thinking the same. I love it I wonder tho, if it has tondo with bow mu h the hair is washed. I notice with higher end shampoos. Everyday washing with these products will dry out the hair.

I love their smell and I feel amazing when I use their products. I completely disagree with this review. I'm glad I didn't find this before buying their products!! They made wonders for my hair! I suggest buying minis if you're a first time user, to see how you like them and if they're suitable for your needs :D

It's interesting you point out that you've only used the shampoo, and not the conditioner yet you rave about the products and make statements like "'idk why people are putting negative feedbacks." Well, because different people have different experiences, and if they have negative ones of course they should share them. That way if a lot of people are having bad experiences, companies know to address issues. Also, not everything is going to work for everyone. Plus, I give other advice in the video about how to find something that works.

@@Irvy i wasn’t targetting u..i was just reading the comments and found that many people have negetive feedback thats why..also i know everyone have diff experiences because their hair type is different that is the only reason i mentioned my hair type..its your job to tell people whether u like that product or not and their is nothing bad. I had the exact same experience as you with the Moroccan Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner AND Hydrating Light conditioning treatment. It really was like a 'cloud' of strong scent much stronger than I remember. I thought I was crazy, but after the 2nd use of this product line, my hair started falling out!!!! It was literally breaking off at least twice as the normal shed from how drying this 'hydrating' product line is. I remember loving it before, too. I recently grew my hair to waist length and was looking for products to hydrate my mid-shaft to ends since those naturally get a little dry over time. I have no color in my hair and I don't use any products except a leave in conditioner and Moroccan style cream mixed with Moroccan oil. I was PISSED that this product was causing so much breakage. I still like the styling cream and the oil but now I wonder if I should continue using that. I was extremely disappointed at the results of the 'hydrating' product line as I remember it being too heavy when I had short hair. Thank you for validating my reaction as I, too, thought it was just me. I will be writing a letter to Moroccan Oil immediately.

Hi! I experienced hair loss after using this shampoo/conditioner!!! I used to love it, my hair was smooth and shiny after using it. I think they changed the formula, I bought 1 liter shampoo and conditioner. Every time after washing my hair I had a handful of hair falling out in the shower!!! I switched to another shampoo- just a little hair loss… again- decided to give it a try- the same situation. I gave it to a friend… Now using Honest shampoo with a few drops of a rosemary oil to stimulate hair growth:)

I started using Moroccan oil shampoo since past 5/6 months . Am sensitive to strong smell and my skalp gets dry very soon . Am happy this has suited me than any other shampoo so far!

I totally agree with you. This was the reason why I was looking for Moroccanoil shampoo & conditoiner review. I felt I was using shampoo for extra oily scalp. It was so dry and rough. I wonder if there are 2 different version of same shampoo as I read many others saying opposite. I wish it were the case but it was really rough and drying even after drying the hair.

That sucks, but don’t worry - it’s nothing permanent if it’s due to the shampoo/conditioner. Just switch to one that works for you in and in a few washes your hair should return to normal.

This shampoo totally dried the f out of my hair to the point where even simply styling it became very difficult - I also conditioned AND used the hair oil, all Morrocan Oil. For reference, I am a man with medium texture / dense / wavy hair kept relatively short. (1/2 inch on sides 4 inches on top) My hair is not very oily to begin with, and I've more or less been co-washing for the last decade - but I decided to try shampoo again. I can't explain why but it made my hair feel like straw. Definitely glad I bought the travel size 🤣

I found this review only after I got the 500ml shampoo and conditioner set sadly, after using it I started looking up if its normal for it to have such an overwhelming scent as if it would have alcohol in it. My hair does not feel hydrated whatsoever

When I was first using it, I loved it. I’d been on it for maybe 3 years when my hair started feeling dry and unruly. I’ve just changed to a new shampoo and it’s struggling to repair what long term use of MoroccanOil did to my hair

I appreciate this review. I'm very sensitive to scents - they can trigger migraines for me. I had been planning to order some of this because I'd read some great reviews about the shampoo . . . but I wanted to read a little more before I spent that much money. I think I'd be better off not trying this at this point. I'd hate to spend a bunch of money on professional shampoo, and then find that it triggered migraines because the perfume was so strong. I bought the shampoo and conditioner because I read nothing but great things about it after being dissapointed by Olaplex. Sadly my hair is not responding well to these products. My hair is so dry, frizzy and tangled. I sleep on a satin pillowcase and I still wake up with matting and tangles. I thought maybe I was using too much shampoo but that hasn't seemed to help either. Pretty dissapointing, I was really hoping for the results others have had. For reference, my hair is thick with a slight wave, minimal color damage towards the front.

I have the same experience I've received the shampoo and conditioner as a gift years ago from a friend and when I tried to shampoo my hair was so dry and as I try to disentangle my hair with the conditioner it was so hard and my hair so mattled and dry like stray. Honestly it was imposible to handle it and literally so much hair was falling and falling off I was so disappointed i was so shock and scared and quickly tried to wash it all off and wash my hair again with another shampoo as my hair was falling like mad, I stopped using it immediately and sometime later I tried again thinking maybe it would work this time, well on that same day I have to cut off my hair short as too much hair broke and fall offl,. I was thinking maybe my batch was expired or off I don't know I wanted to buy again as I see so many nice reviews hence why I came to see the video. But no thanks.

well I am the opposite I love the scent, it makes my hair feel and smell great for days, One of the best shampoos I have used as a licensed cosmetician. Influencers are just that influencers who people trust but to me they are just meh. They get lots of free stuff just to get to trash it.

I used it once and now my hair feels very dry and poofy and like it has a film on it that I can’t wash off 😞 I been using my olaplex and it’s still not back to how it was before trying it. I love the oil but not the shampoo and conditioner. My daughters hair isnt responding negatively to it like mine is. But I will not use it again.
