In this game Morozevich builds attack against Black's king. Opposite side castling allows Alexandr to put a lot of pressure against proponent's king and counter opposite threats. Parties find themselves at a very short time and play on seconds when lots of threats are in the air.

Rapid chess and blitz chess tournaments
Blitz chess (also known as speed or fast chess) is a type of chess in which each player is given less time to consider their moves than normal tournament time controls allow. Openings, tactics and strategy are same.
The Modern Defense (also known as the Robatsch Defence after Karl Robatsch) is a hypermodern chess opening in which Black allows White to occupy the center with pawns on d4 and e4, then proceeds to attack and undermine this "ideal" center without attempting to occupy it himself. The opening has been most notably used by British grandmasters Nigel Davies and Colin McNab.
The Modern Defense is closely related to the Pirc Defence, the primary difference being that in the Modern, Black delays developing his knight to f6. The delay of ...Nf6 attacking White's pawn on e4 gives White the option of blunting the g7-bishop with c2-c3. There are numerous transpositional possibilities between the two openings.
The Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings (ECO) classifies the Modern Defense as code B06, while codes B07 to B09 are assigned to the Pirc. The tenth edition of Modern Chess Openings (1965) grouped the Pirc and Robatsch together as the "Pirc-Robatsch Defense".

9:54 When Moro offers a draw he has got only 3 seconds to left. :D If Golubov reacts 2 seconds late Morozevich loses :))) Thats epic game. Because both side several times made a move when they had only 1 seconds. :)) This is not a simple game. Thats true THRILLER! :) Well done, Morozevich. Well done, Golubov! Big respects from chess country Azerbaijan.

Holy shit. I believe personally that black had a strong advantage at 5:16; black should've tried Nb6, with the idea of either provoking b3, and play Na4 threatening b2#. If b2-b3, then Nc3+ is a killer move. As for white, white never played the move Bxe7+ (first and probably best moment was at 6:34) after which I believe it could be anyone's game.

In 8:25 the whites should have moved the Knight (the one behind) and later the queen in the position covered by that knight (I don't remember the position name). Then it would have been check mate!

Surely, it's fine to accept the rules in professional chess. Golubov is entitled to claim a win according to the rules, under the presumption that Morozevich would have done the same thing. The rules give Golubov the win at kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3WqgJuEltJseas for the piece drop and he should have just gracefully accepted the kindly donated point.

That's not true, there is no such rule , maximum that Golubov could get in that case is a warning from the arbiter for Morozevich and the game would continue only the second warning transforms into a loss
@paulepstein9739
@paulepstein9739 4 жыл бұрын
@@nicoracristi897 I did research this and I couldn't find the rule I was hoping to find. What is your reference? A piece drop is an illegal move. I think Golubov is at fault for not stopping the clocks and asking for the arbiter. In other professional blitz games, I've seen a loss awarded for a piece drop. Another possibility is that Golubov gets one or two minutes of added time, which is surely worth claiming. Why do you think the rule is just a warning?
@nicoracristi897
@nicoracristi897 4 жыл бұрын
@@paulepstein9739 The rules changed previously for the first illegal move the result was loss, now for the first illegal move is warning + time for Golubov in that case, but droping a piece unintentionally after you pressed the clock isn't the biggest sin in the world
@nicoracristi897
@nicoracristi897 4 жыл бұрын
I know this from playing in official FIDE tournaments. This rule changed after the incident in the game between Inarkiev and Carlsen from world blitz 2018, where Inarkiev responded with a check to a check(which is illegal),but Magnus didn't see it and made another move which also was illegal and the rules at that time where that the last player to make illegal move and press the clock losses,but it looks like official rules do not apply to Magnus and the result of the game was either a draw or even Magnus got a win from it,but the situation was stupid so that's why was decided to not give a loss after the first illegal move.

@@nicoracristi897 Interesting replies, thanks -- I stand corrected on my original point. But you're absolutely wrong about what actually happened here. Morozevich knocked his queen over (unintentionally of course), then pressed his clock while the queen was lying on its side. It seems that Golubov deserved some recompense. However, stopping the clocks to have summoned the arbiter would have gained thinking time for Morozevich, too, so might not have helped.
