In the first X-Men run Charles Xavier was killed,but then it was retconned that he was alive and that the dead Charles was actually a shapeshifter who lived a life of villainy but wanted to redeem himself by helping someone. Charles needed to be replaced for a while, because he needed to investigate a possible alien invasion. And the Changeling took his place but died. LOL. The Morph from this show was based on him; his aspect from the Animated Series is almost identical to the Changeling. And the new look Morph has in X-Men '97 comes from his design in the episode of TAS, "One Man's Worth", which in turn inspired his look for the Age of Apocalypse look...confusing.
