I really like the 100 series exterior. It's sleek, much like a fighter. Agree that its size feels good for her role. Quite gorgeous. I'm also thrilled with the 'step' entry, vs. the cursed ladder entry of the 300 series. (I want a *ladder hoist* type climbing platform as an upgrade option for my 325i ) The internal cargo access is nice. An aftermarket deployable 'bathroom in a box' is something I'd want to put in there. Biggest personal dislike is the *interior looks like an emptied fiberglass hot tub* . An interior that reads to me more like a medical space or bathroom than a high end touring car.

I actually really like these ships... maybe even more than the 300 series. Also, in reference to fitting vehicles inside... this really makes me really excited for the Ranger bikes. I bet those could easily fit inside the 135C bay and could make for a nice pairing.

The 135c was my fav of the three but the fighter version looked the best to me and they indeed fixed its turning when it was released for the expo. I was doing box missions in the Hurston area and never had to refuel playing a couple hours because of fuel scoops and it barely sipped the QF doing a bunch of short jumps to moon and back. While not the best combat ship on paper it can hold its own and has a slim profile from the side to be harder to hit. A skilled pilot could get a lot of mileage out of it.

I don't know who thought it was a good idea to have to climb a spindly ladder to enter a "luxury" ship, but the 100 series did it right with that nice entry. But does this interior design make any sense? We have a full on bed in something that doesn't have a toilet or a sink? There is no interior storage cubbies or dresser other than the crawl in cargo space. Why not make the pilot seat convert into a bed and use that extra space for something more practical or luxurious.

It actually fits the lore really well. I recently got boat fever and spent way too much time looking at real world yachts. Apparently, sleeping 8 in absolute luxury is an industry standard, and toilets are considered a frivolous luxury. Showers are completely impossible to find. Luxury and survival don't mix.

I can see the 135c supplementing or replacing the 85X on 890's. While you trade a passenger seat. (though a passenger could technically take the bed for the trip) the ability to move food, subcomponents, consumables, or just the spoils of the owners SO's last shopping trip to the 890 without having to dock or land will be quite handy.

easy solution: you park a 85X and a 135c in the 890. so the passenger can be taken in with the fancy 85X while their luggage is hauled with the 135c. of course you can even add a Pisces to the hangar, that can haul cargo and passengers, if a little less fancy.

Aurora and Mustang, despite their respective reworks, are already pretty much obsolete. Their only real use is being upgraded into something else. Tbh the Aurora and Mustangs need minor reworks of their cargo bays and interior spaces in order to make them competitive. The Avenger Titan and 100i, on the contrary, are good enough to stay with you for a long time.

I think the Aurora could remain a contender if it were a lot more nimble than the 100 series, but then why bother, as the _Mustang_ is the starter ship for combat oriented players. But the fact that the Mustang rework didn't include an interior space pretty much killed it as a starter ship IMO. So yeah, that leaves us with the 100 series as the only remaining choice, unless a new player really truly has no intention of doing anything that would require a little cargo space and therefore still prefers a Mustang.

I think they just need to rework the aurora to have the newer sleek white fiberglass look. They also need to add attachments for things like doing cargo. The problem with SC though is they are changing direction to new design principles, but it's a huge logistical problem, because older ships look like they're from a completely different game, and pretty rough around the edges too. And even the game engine is 4 years old, not very great, and this is already their 2nd / 3rd game engine change. Which means if they want to move to a new engine, they basically have to completely remake the game and recreate most of the systems and assets from scratch. This is a problem that is soon approaching critical mass. Also, a lot of these ships are sorely mismatched for what they are. You've got 4 size 1's on the Aurora, and 2 size 3's on the 100i. That is a huge imbalance of power. The 100i essentially gets double the damage output, which is an irreconcilable difference in a game like this, especially for their similar size / speed / role. It means that a 100i can always beat an Aurora in a battle, unless the 100i isn't moving or shooting back or piloted by someone who just got the game.

I bought an 125a and never regretted. To this day I believe it is the best ship to run box missions and bunkers and if I feel lucky even some light combat missions. Agreed. I feel the Origin 100i series interior(s) have a medical or bathroom feel to them - or as I wrote elsewhere, the feeling of an emptied fiberglass hot tub. Nothing precisely ugly, but as you said, sort of sterile. Lacking in the; fabric, wood, cushioning and creature comforts I would think appropriate. I also agree with Risenfriese about the Mustang Beta redesign debacle. The original design of which was gorgeous, but the new one is a prison cell shorn of all charm and comfort. Depressing and I'd argue out of character for a company whose in-lore CEO (Silas Koerner) has such a hands on quality to the product design. I think he'd reject the unlovely Mustang Beta interior as well. No heart.

@@Power5 yes, but it's also objectively bad at its job since it can only move one passenger with no cargo per run. Imagine an 890j superyacht shipping guests of to shore to shop one at a time. And they can't even bring back their items with them, you'd need a separate shuttle for goods. How does that fit into a luxury experience? It doesn't. At best the x85 is one of those roadsters you can fold away in a luxury RV, it doesn't work combined with an actual yacht and the 890j is a worse ship for it.

In that respect the content of their answer can be considered "empty space", I give you that. I was very excited for the 135c. It seemed to be Origin's answer to the shuttle craft...until CIG made it just barely too big for the Carrack hangar. Can it fit? Sorta. But not in a hurry, not if you want to walk around it and easily unload the cargo. So no, not viably for my liking. It wouldn't have taken much to accomplish this, so I suspect it was done on purpose. An advantage it has currently, is that it can be spawned on a vehicle pad at an outpost, just like the 85x. Great video.

aurora will win CLEARLY a fight with the shit 100i btw........dont forget.....aurora has TWICE the shield! an even smaller profile and with 4xS1 gimbaled not much less firepower! and dont forget the missile changes. S2 missiles can only be fired above 1500m distance. as soon the aurora is close, that missile advantage is null and void!

Not really. Gimbals are terrible. They miss more often than they hit, even when it seems like they're hitting. Not to mention the reduced range of size 1's. Max size 1 range is 1.4km. Meanwhile, size 3's range from 3-4km. Even though the Aurora is slightly faster, that's not enough to matter in dogfighting, only in running away in a straight line type of scenario's. Because all it takes for a 100i to escape or gain distance is for them to maneuver in a direction, and by the time you match their direction and speed, they will have already gotten thousands of meters away, enough to either be out of weapons range, jump away, or use the distance advantage to shoot back outside of the Aurora's pitiful weapon range. This basically makes the Aurora like a child swinging their arms while someone's hand is on their head holding them at a distance.

It's utilitarian and grounded without looking crude or boxy. It's got flowing lines without looking flimsy. It's got weapons but it's not covered in them. I fell in love with the Origin brand when I saw that first 'What is Speed?' in-universe advertisement years ago. I don't have Star Citizen, I just can't rationalize spending so much money for a game I can't actually play yet, but god I love the art, designs, lore, and dedication. When SC finally comes out this will definitely be my first ship. Thanks, Morphologis, for the beautiful video.

Why can't you play it yet? When you buy a ship you gain access to the alpha, 3.11 just came out this week and fixed a lot of server crashing issues

@@Wakish0069 Time crunch, I simply cannot find the time I would need for games like SC, I have maybe 6 free hours (that won't just disappear) a week right now between work, family commitments, maintaining my living space, and sleep (because while I am willing, the flesh is weak). The good news is that I finally got a computer that should be able to run it.

I think it's biggest flaw is the bed. If you need a single seat ship with a bed, get a 300 and you've also got a toilet and food prep area. What they should have done is put a 3 person couch where the bed is and make it a luxury passenger transport for the 890. Right now the only way to haul more than one passenger is the Pisces or the MPUV. Neither one would be considered that fancy. (I guess a Tana could work if someone wanted to sit on the toilet, but those can't land on a Carrack)

I feel like it's important to consider price in these. Maybe comparing the 100 series to the other starters closer to their price. In that case you have the Aurora LN/CL up against the 100s. The Aurora LN could absolutely give the 100 a fight. The Mustang Beta is a much better value proposition with it's facilities from a sight seeing perspective, etc.

I love your cinematic like shots! The 135c is the cheapest of my 13 ships I own, with a price gap of 160$ to the next „cheapest“ one. I like this ship the same way I like the more expensive ones. It is beautifully designed and I fly it every day since it’s release. Still hope they will fix the retro thruster. It „breaks“ like a Reclaimer!

Really want to see Origin have a VIP shuttle, in the vein of the Lambda-class from Star Wars. The 100 series has convinced me that this should be the next step: a medium-sized ship optimized for long-distance travel, able to transport 8-12 passengers and cargo quickly and efficiently from one system to another, from orbit to planetside, from station to ship, etc. Three variants: optimizations for passenger/luxury, cargo/vehicle, and security operations. Possibly include a unique feature that allows 100 and 300 series escorts to dock on the exterior of the shuttle and refuel/rearm & piggyback on jumps, using the shuttle as a mothership.

The idea about the 100i's sluggish maneuvering is probably intentional, to hint at flying a luxury yacht instead of a snappy sports car, it might be a weird thought given the small size of the ship, but at the end of the day, said ship is an Origin ship, which is centered around luxury.
