Mato, you did it again. This was another beauty combination from Nimzowitsch. His oponent, Semyon Alapin was one of the strongest russian players that time, not a NN player.

Let's see... - All major pieces and a Bishop are aiming at you. - Your Queen is in a compromised position, and your Rooks are still asleep. - You haven't castled yet and are under heavy fire from the opponent. - It's not the endgame yet. Sounds like a very horrible way to lose.

Dear Mato, The old master's games are legendary. However the recent games of contemporary chess greats have a different flavour, may be because of improvement in chess theory. Your end game series was a treat which you discontinued abruptly. Anyway whatever chess you post is educational in its content. Request during your commentary in your videos please elaborate on the underlying improvement in theory which leads to a different approach of contemporary players over the old masters. It would bring more clarity to the modern chess tactics. Regards

This is the result of taking poisoned pawns and being under developed in chess, MVL has lost at least 5 classical games because of that, it's never worth
