I think it should be mandatory for all new drivers to drive a Morris minor for a few weeks, it would surely make them better drivers.

A great non biased review on using a Morris Minor as a daily driver 👍 My wife has a daily driver, I would recommend; electronic ignition, alternator, halogen headlights disc brakes… Watch your clutch use, try not to leave the car in gear when stationary, traffic lights and junctions etc. The clutch release bearing as standard is graphite and can rub away very quickly… Soz if I sound like I’m picking fault - just trying to be helpful 👍

Really appreciate the advice, thank you!! I did adjust my driving style when I first saw your comment, I'm sorry the reply is so delayed! Terrific motors - I have just managed to let Summer slip by with very limited miles though, far too much work on!

This just popped up in my feed and I realise it was a year ago, but I have to say... you're not being overly kind to your clutch.. apart from the excess wear on the release bearing holding it in sitting at lights, it also adds undue wear on the crank thrust bearing which is expensive to fix.. kudos to you for using as an almost daily driver... too many people think these cars and other classics aren't up to the task of daily use when that's exactly what they did when they were released new...

I’ll be ‘bearing’ that in mind going forward. Cheers Chris!

Great video. I'm considering turning my weekend getaway Morris into a daily driver. I seem to be on top of the maintenance at the moment and I'm being rewarded with super reliability.

I've just bought one of these. Mines...ermm... going to need some work, but will make a fab project. (Nope, gonna financially ruin me) lol!

Im sure I replied to this!! Me and the missus did keep an eye on your updates at the time - did the car end up selling after the Rustoration P4? Mine still needs work - I landed a BSA Bantam in the summer and have also had a Ford KA pop up too, so I need to slow down and get back to work!

Brilliant video on your “Moggy 1000”. Going on your experience, what would be a fair price to purchase one that would be in reasonable condition?

You do drive through some extremely undesirable areas of Birmingham. Am I correct in thinking you was Driving off Heathfield Road there down towards Aston and threw the back parts there behind the Hussain mosque ..

Ha!! It’s very much the standard affair around here now unfortunately! This looks like Summer Hill road, onto icknield street over onto Wheeler Street into Lozells road and over the roundabout onto Witton High Street..lovely old place isn’t it!! Not the bulletproof edition of the Moggy unfortunately, but so far so lucky!

A good video but why do you "ride" the clutch pedal? I don't hold out much hope for the release bearing lasting very long either. Sorry.

Wow cheers for the uplifting comment you’ll be happy to know my driving technique is evolving as we go and I don’t ride it anymore - hope you sleep better tonight peter. sorry.
