If you put the head back on, there's a critical tightening up sequence for the nuts

The later engine had a plate on front of block for the fitting of a water pump

if you look online you can find a workshop manual that deals with series MM with sidevalve engine and Morris Minors , i tried putting up link but comments wont accept it

Its thermo-convection does not have a thermostat and also no water pump

No water pump just a thermosdtat at the top end of engine near top hose mouting , thermosyphon system
