"For there are brighter sides to life, and I should know because I see them, very often" ok this tiny lyric-change made me happy.

This is so many kinds of aching. Beautiful but it hurts.

Hearing the ghost of the Smiths in the guitar riffs made me emotional. There’s something especially tragic and isolated about Morrissey performing Smiths songs.

Very well put. And ironic that he sings "we cannot cling to those old dreams anymore"

You can really hear the quality in music from The Smiths songs from latter era Moz songs. The lyrics and especially the musicianship was superior. Big ups to Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce

I wonder what its like to sing this song, then look to your left and not see Johnny, look right.. no Andy. I feel for him..

Funny how the Smiths had only 3 musicians, and they still did a better job at capturing the song's emotions. These guys are good too but there's something missing :(

Morrissey would be nothing today without Marrs riffs. That's a fact.

I think you meant it the other way around. Which one has had the biggest solo career? Moz, of course.
@verucasalt918227 күн бұрын
They complemented each other but Morrissey would have had a big career in music regardless . Marr is singing the old smiths songs and cannot replicate the emotions because he didn’t write the songs . Plus his solo career has been not as brilliant as Morrissey. The Smiths were a great band , no doubt about .
