A woman contemplating suicide and falling in love with her own death. 'Drag the River' is a term used by the police to drag a net into a lake or river to find a body. British author Virginia Woolf (One of Morrissey's favorites) took her own life by putting stones in her coat pocket and drowned herself in a river. Pretty grim and morbid Moz.

This song makes me cry. I haven’t heard it in such a very long time. I relate to most all of Moz’s lyrics but the lyrics to this song...well the lyrics, the music, the song as a whole...it just sort of tears my heart out and makes me feel some kind of hauntingly familiar peacefully maudlin sorta way. Thank you for uploading. 🥰 #VivaMoz!
