This song is so beautiful but it's heartbreaking at the same time.

This rendition took away the brilliance of Johnny Marr's music, but Morrissey sounds good.
@stevenhartlaub45573 жыл бұрын
Agreed. That’s pretty much true of every Smiths song he performs-good vocals but the music just isn’t quite right.
@mooskamoo Жыл бұрын
Same but different with Marr’s versions of Smith’s songs. Great music but lacking soul and quality on the vocals, ho hum.

Ugh. Everything absolutely everything Morrissey has recorded since 2001 sounds like an awful caricature of the Morrissey of the 20 years prior. Live performances? Forget it . It’s like Morrissey took too many notes from the last decade of Dean Martin’s crooning career. Just horrible. Morrissey somehow manages to ruin himself. All of those beautiful, biting, well crafted lyrics now somehow seem canned. Morrissey became lazy and ironically now looks and sounds like the faded pop star type that he once lampooned.

You nailed it here. So sad really. But we have our memories of when he was beyond great don't we? Some will never know.
@BeBopaLula-b6i5 жыл бұрын
Completely disagree, I don’t know how you can say that, his voice is so angelic here. He always puts his heart into every performance and his songs as a solo artist are just as good, if not better than his years in the smiths.
