as a writer myself, I truly understand and appreciate what Morrissey had to say about having an inspiration and a muse. Some of the most mundane things to most people can be quite cathartic to the observant individual; the little details that give writing a depth, a richness to it. These details are essential, if we expect to find an audience. I've been a part of his audience since the beginning and I will be a part of it until he takes his final curtain call.... Thank you, Morrissey, for enriching my life's experiences, inspiring me, when no one else could, or would, inspire me. I love you....

To understand Morrissey is to understand "loss". His words touch our sadness in a way that he would never trully recognize, since it would make Morrissey look back at the sadder moments of his life and ours. Every song he sings speaks of a dream unbidden, yet unspoken. How many of us know this....more than we'd like to say.

***** I think Morrissey's eloquent and well spoken manner of speech was much more of a normal way to talk back then. Although some people may agree that people who talk in this way in the year 2014 sound gay (kinda true) back then it was the norm.. Anyway I think it's more a combination of that massive chin and the hissing of poor quality recording equipment that brings on the 'gay lisp' that we find in so many cartoons and comedies of today.

Every comment on this page is brilliant, spot on, humbling, revealing and very emotional. Thanks for sharing your feelings. I no longer feel i'm alone in my misery. I'm very grateful for Morrissey's lyrics and The Smith's music in my life.

SM, I can relate to what you wrote about misery. I enshrined the Smiths' music in my adolescence and young adulthood. But when I turned to the Lord Jesus Christ (not "religion"), my misery left me for good. He can do the same for you...and Mr. Morrissey.

I love everything about Morrissey, I think he is so articulate, eloquent and unique and a beautiful soul I loved The Smiths from the first time I heard This Charming Man. I feel blessed to have grown up as they emerged and grew on the Britpop scene, along with so many others, the talent was so varied and off the charts.

Stunning personality full of poetry. It’s incredible the way he manages to tell his life story, focussing on essential learnings and afterthoughts. England is portrayed at his best, it bring back memories about the inspiration I took from this country. Thank you for being so serious, meticulous and dedicated to your art Morrissey, that’s probably the main reason why you became a genius. from a Frenchman who spent 7 years of his life there.

I really liked this! I wasn't sure what to expect, but he comes across as thoughtful, intelligent, and sentimental in a way that I didn't expect. I loved that little smile, and gleam in his eye's when he made the joke about his writing becoming apart of literary history, it was cute! Manchester was such a trip, looking at all it's desolation, and grey decay, it's easy to understand a lot of the lyrics coming out of those great post-punk bands in the Manchester scene during the early 80's. I'm glad this little piece still exists, thanks for sharing!

Love the line and the look he gives when he says "its proved to be quite true, in a way". He is such a contradiction. Generally a shy person but at times, in brief moments, something ungraded, open, and flamboyant just jumps out proving the opposite.
