I agree with everyone saying how lovely this video is. As an ex homecare worker who cared for disabled kids this is an amazing honest song. This is so similar to a child I looked after who had cerebral palsy. The words which hit the me most: Jesus made me so Jesus save me, dream of love, could you bear to kiss her on the mouth, and the last bit about wearing clothes you have chosen for yourself. In the case of my client, Jasmine, she would never do that. Also the "spastic " sounds at the end are accurate.I can't help thinking this song would be censored today, yet it is literally what I experienced in homecare.

Myself as well (am disabled and disfigured after a horrible auto accident). Im disabled and remember how several people I thought were friends abandon me and never again answer my calls. How horrible that firstly, you had such a devastatingly bad and life altering accident, and secondly, that your 'friends' deserted you. I'm sorry that you suffered both. Horrible. I do hope, though, that this song has reached to touch your soul within. I've found that Morrissey's empathy has the insight of real humane understanding and affection. He seems some strange, weird master in that way. I hope you've adjusted and are living a good and happy life

Morrissey in the smiths in my top favourite artist some people think this song is offensive, but if you actually listen to the lyrics it is more of an anthem for those people affected bye disability is if you want to put it in simple terms. I have a mild case of cerebral palsy myself. It’s not a massive thing doesn’t affect me at all really but the relatability over this song for me is 100% if that makes any sense. Also, I was also born in November so yeah and to end this rambling comment off I would like to quote one of Murphy‘s favourite poets . Also one of mine “be yourself everyone else is taken Oscar Wilde”

He's still great. Certainly aged with more dignity and grace than some of his contemporaries. (I'm thinking of a certain 60-something who shall remain nameless, still needing his little teased-hair, slapped-on-makeup costume before he can leave the house.) Moz is more an elder statesmen-type now, in the suitcoat, a bit thicker, but I think it suits him well. He's not pretending it's still 1988. I've seen him live a bunch of times in the past few years. He still commands the stage, still sends the crowd into hysterics. His new music is still great too. (Another thing I DEFINITELY can't say for some of his contemporaries.) If you think these lyrics are shocking and incendiary, listen to "Bonfire of Teenagers," the title track from his recent "lost album." (There's live versions on here.) Capitol Records literally tried to bury the album, wouldn't release it, but he finally wrestled it back from them just the other day! I don't know if a proper release is coming soon or what, but he owns the album now! I think he should just put it on Spotify. That's how everyone is gonna listen to it anyway, right? Not to go on a whole tangent, but for established artists with big followings, what do record companies even DO? I get their purpose for the up-n-comers, pushing the record, getting the press to talk about them, etc. But for someone like Morrissey, especially since the album is ALREADY RECORDED...just release it on Spotify! But the word on the fanboards is now that he has it back from Capitol, he's gonna try to get another company to sign him. Can you BELIEVE it? With all the crap being pushed on us, friggin MORRISSEY doesn't have a record deal! What the literal fuck? Anyway, I've heard live versions of six of the songs from Bonfire, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they are his best stuff since probably Vauxhall. Get ready for a Morrissey resurgence. The title track alone is an instant classic.

And if the lights were out Could you even bear To kiss her full on the mouth (or anywhere?) Oh, poor twisted child So ugly, so ugly Poor twisted child Oh hug me, oh hug me One November Spawned a monster In the shape of this child Who must remain A hostage to kindness And the wheels underneath her A hostage to kindness And the wheels underneath her A symbol of where mad, mad lovers Must pause and draw the line. So sleep and dream of love Because it's the closest You will get to love That November Is a time Which I must Put out of my mind Oh, one fine day Let it be soon She won't be rich or beautiful But she'll be walking your streets In the clothes that she went out And chose for herself.

How insanely brutal he puts it out there could you even dare to kiss her full on the mouth or anywhere yet so true sad and true I think every one of us that has a disability some kind of a character flaw in this Human Condition we all agree to carry that burden through this Life as we know it before we even get here and may seem so incredibly cruel and difficult we learn and we carry much away from that and we take it into our next existence and it's absolutely meaningful and valuable I can't say how but I know there's a purpose for it. Be careful who you criticise who you look at and think strange selfish thoughts against because even thinking them it's enough to give give it egs & call it karma call it we all trade and shoes it comes back. The good and the bad. The Old Testament said something about it's better to cut your tongue off or poke your eye out before go astray and say evil cruel things how much truth to that because it's describing Karma and the trading shoea situation

"I want to be that chocolate bar"...really?...one could argue that (technically) you started it. Since you love Moz, you should check out "Morrissey at the Hollywood Bowl 2007." It is awesome. It is peak Morrissey.
