Yeah when I bought the album years ago it was this one, which I loved. The Katrina and the waves style doesn’t do it much for me lol

There's A Place In Hell For Me And My Friends There is a place Reserved For me and my friends And when we go We all will go So you see I'm never alone There is a place With a bit more time And a few more Gentler words And looking back We will forgive (We had no choice We always did) All that we hope Is when we go Our skin And our blood And our bones Don't get in your way Making you ill The way they did When we lived Oh, there is a place A place in hell Reserved For me and my friends And if ever I Just wanted to cry Then I will Because I can

Yep definitely the best version and probably the best epilogue of our lives, I insist our (!) live, no matter sex orientation, it is just about being human and... suffering - how do you react at suffering? Hum? And then when you’re fad up of screaming, beating and giving back all this suffering... well then you become compassionate for yourself and there you learn who to forgive yourself for everything you did just to survive... like a beast

For me this version ( far superior to the single edit) is a beautiful hymn to Queer rage! I was 21 when this came out. The UK was a place of violent , institutionalised homophobia. James Anderton (Former Greater Manchester Police Chief) Had declared that Gay men were living in a cess pit of their own creating!! LGBTQ people had to galvanise ourselves against attacks on all sides. This song for me was a song of empowerment of Queer resistance. I loved Morrissey then, I wish I could say the same now......

always made me think of the initial Aids victims of the 80's/early 90's and anti-gay rhetoric of that time (and still going). it can also apply to 1. Asian Americans in 2020, many became victims of public assault during the initial covid crisis and were blamed. 2.Trans people at this moment - the current wave of anti-trans rhetoric and new laws that refuse hormone therapy & forcing people to de-transition & suicide. 3. slaves & the treachery african americans have experienced & still experience throughout american history 4. jews during and after WWII. and 5. I think the song is about the persecution of people - any group that can be singled out (that will be, or has in the past). its a poignant and beautifully sad song

That's the original image a lot of people have changed it though There's one where he's a wearing a Joy Division t shirt, another where it's a Nirvana t shirt and probably loads more.
