Great video as usual thank you for sharing. I love knives of this size, similar size to my Tops Scandi Trekker .

I bought LTWright knife and a couple of custom knives from BROC knives not only because you recommended them, but based on my own judgement as a result of collected information from the net. I can say that what you told about them is spot on and I do not regret my choices! Both are great for their price! And what you say about Rob Evans is pretty much inline with what others say. I am saying all these just to confirm that your suggestions are spot on and you have my full confidence.

Thanks my friend it means alot and I always speak the truth about a knife. It's no joke when people are spending their hard earned money.

Please.Do you like Rob Evans knife more than the LT Wright? If yes which LT Wright is that? I'm saving to get a good knife and I'm between the Genesis or any other I can find if it's better than the Genesis. I'm searching for the best in terms of performance, I don't care about looks. Thanks in advance

@@greekveteran2715 I am not sure if the question is directed to me or to @Eagle Ridge Survival School. But, if it is directed to me, here is my two pennies' worth of info ;) The knives in question are quite different and how those differences translate to your use depends on personal preferences. I had LT Wright GNS and it was very comfortable but Rob's one is just a bit more comfortable for my hand. But I would not mind working with GNS all day. It is so comfortable. However, the main difference between the two is the blade style, size and edge angles. LT Wright GNS blade (and handle) is considerably larger than Rob's bush tool. It is up to you to decide which size works for you better. Secondly, the GNS has a woodlore style blade and the pointy end on GNS (Genesis is more like a Kephart) is better for carving/shaping fine details, especially if you are doing lots of thump assisted cuts like me. Rob's bush tool style might offer some advantage for feather stick making and definitely it would be more suited if you are planning to do the occasional game and food prep in the field. The GNS (and probably other LT Wrights) have more acute edge angles meaning they cut better (as they will bite deeper) but are more prone to chips (especially if you sharpen the edge and get rid of the micro-bevel). So, LT wright might be better for shaping/carving tasks as they will take larger chunks and will cut with less friction. Rob's grind angles are more obtuse and more durable, so probably you will not need a micro bevel on Rob's knives. And since the primary bevel angles are more obtuse, Rob's bush tool is better at feather stick making as the edge will not bite that deep if you do not force it. One thing to consider as well is the price. The LT Wright would be more expensive when imported from the US. They also provide some steel choices like 3V, O1 or AEBL. Amoung the choices of steel Rob and LT Wright is providing, for this type of knife, I would prefer AEBL (LT Wright), if it is not an option then I would choose 52100.

@@muratmustafa4532 I was asking you, and that's exactly everything I needed to know! Thank you very much! I love 52100 but it depends on the heat treatment. Is your knife from Rob Evans made with ballearing steel 52100?
@muratmustafa4532
@muratmustafa4532 2 жыл бұрын
@@greekveteran2715 Yes, it is made of 52100, but I have not used it enough to testify for the heat treatment. However, Rob is testing his knives a lot and from what I see and hear, I would not worry about the heat treatment. I think he is outsourcing heat treatment to someone else.

Another great vid my brother! Haven't heard from you in awhile. Hope all is well! Got 2 new knives in and really surprised how good they are at the price point. They are joker nomad and lynx. Will be interested in your thoughts and comments on them. Be safe in these crazy times we live in!

Mine is 100% the best all-weather, all situation, general purpose, outdoor companion neck-knife.......... I have recently retired my Andaltool, Lagum, Genesis, GNS, Aurora, and Woodlore clone, all because of this knife. A winner that fits perfect in my hands, and handles all bush tasks with ease. Thank you Rob. Check him out at "Rob Evans Woodsman" here on KZbin; he's great fun! Thank You Shayne

Please, how does the steel perform in comparison with The Genesis? Also, which steels do those 2 knives came with? Thanks in advance
@whiskeyriver4322
@whiskeyriver4322 2 жыл бұрын
@@greekveteran2715 Both are O1 steel. But the Mors knife is more versatile because of its geometry. The blade is shorter, thinner, and more narrow; making it perfect for carving. You can carve a netting needle with the Genesis, but it's easier with the Mors. It also has a shallow scandi grind which is more resistant to edge roll and chipping. The Genesis is a great knife, but the handle doesn't sit well in my hand at all.

@@whiskeyriver4322 Thanks for the feedback! I really appriciate it! Waiting list for the Mors knife is long, so I'm looking to get the Condor Darklore. It's the closest knife design, to the Mors knife. 3mm thick blade and shallow scandi, is what I'm looking for! It's their older model called Condor Bushlore,with upgraded handle material and steel (1095). Thanks again!

Sorry more than half the time I can’t tell a word your saying, try talking to the camera not the floor. Either that or the sound on this video is terrible even though I can hear the birds fine.

To be fair, this video has suited more than 2600 people and not you, however your presence is not necessary here, nor do you have to endure the video either. So I would suggest to move along if it doesn’t suit you. Thank you!

@@eagleridge1972just before I move along I’d like to ask how you reconcile the Casstrom Lars Falt knife when you “absolutely detest skeleton tangs”???.. Oh, and I hope you don’t talk to your students like that, a man who can’t take a little criticism is pretty sad. Bye!
